Escape To Turning Back Log Cabin

HerbRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had stayed at the cabin for the first time several months earlier in early Dec '24 during a cold snap. This time (May, 2025) we were camping for several nights in nearby (15-20 mins away) New Germany State Park. The forecast for our last night camping was for rain ... lasting through our final morning. No one wants to pack up a wet tent before going home so we decided to skip our last night at the campground, pack up the tent while it was dry during the day before, and look into finding a place to stay for our last night. The cabin was available so we reserved it for one night and Nancy allowed us some extra time in the morning to enjoy the cabin and grounds. The cabin was just as it was on our first visit (minus the December snow!) with a home-like feel. Nancy was very accommodating for our spur-of-the-moment booking.

Laurel Highlands Cheerful 3 BR Creekside Cottage

All around amazing place to stay. The weather didn't cooperate to spend time outdoors but the place was so cozy, we didn't mind being inside for our time there. Extremely clean and we'll stocked with everything you need. The creek in the back of the property is amazing!

It was a unique weekend getaway. Got to enjoy nature (deer were plentiful) and the hot tub was great as the nights were still a little chilly.

Mountain Spirit Lodge

MarkRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had a lovely, relaxing stay at Mountain Spirit Lodge. The space suited our needs very well. The hosts gave great instructions on how to find the lodge if GPS takes you to a store in Champion, which is exactly what ours did. So glad they prepared us for that. We enjoyed the back deck where we ate our breakfast. Though the home is very close to the road, the back deck felt very secluded and peaceful. We appreciated the closet full of clean towels, and it was wonderful to have a big livingroom to seat our whole party of six comfortably. Our son enjoyed the board games!!! It will remain a part of good memories surrounding this trip! We would definitely consider this an option in the future.

Vadim’s and Maria’s house is impeccable. Tucked away from the civilization, what a gorgeous place to relax and spend some quality time with your friends and family. The house has everything you’ll ever need including a very special wood-fired sauna and a cold plunge. If you are looking for a perfect place to stay during your fishing trip in the summer or a skiing trip in winter, look no further, - you have arrived!

the NOOK - a getaway in nature

AmandaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Superb tiny house in a quiet rural area in PA. The view from the picture window is stunning. If you want a quiet, cozy retreat, you’ll have everything you need. If you want adventure or restaurants, you’ll need to drive to Somerset or Johnstown. There are other tiny houses in the resort as well as RVs. Everyone was quiet and respectful.
