Private suite vacation rentals in Loch Linnhe

We love staying in accommodation with some quirks, so the history of the Tower of Glenstrae really drew us in. The setting is just wonderful, with amazing views of Loch Awe right on your doorstep and private access to the nearest train station, which is quaint and cute (not to mention convenient). We were able to visit Oban, Inveraray and some smaller towns within a short drive. Although the weather made it difficult to travel locally on foot, we were happy to spend our nights curled up in the living room looking at the Loch.

I’ve stayed in many Airbnb’s over the years and Peter’s place may be my all-time favorite. Beautiful property, very comfortable home, and the hospitality was unlike anything I’ve experienced before. Very grateful to have found this gem, and would highly recommend. Just make sure to follow Peter’s directions rather than Apple Maps, or you may drive past it.

The photos of this view simply don’t do it justice—it’s an otherworldly experience. This suite was a great “base camp” for a couple of days in Skye—close enough to be near the things we wanted to do/see but far enough away to feel remote and SO quiet. Appreciated the little touches throughout and hosts were so helpful with info and recs!

Our stay at The Hayloft was the perfect place to end our travels to Scotland. I only wish we could have spent more time there. Upon arrival, there was homemade Shortbread that was second to none! Unfortnately, no other shortbread will ever taste that good after being spoiled by Dorothy's family recipe. The space was beautifully decorated with her original artwork and has two bedrooms, a workable kitchen, living room with a multitude of books and dvds. The bathroom was lined with mystical wall panels of iridescent stars. My personal favorite was the deep and long bathtub for long hour soaks after a tiring but fun filled day. The backyard is beautiful and serene. Great place to read or for birdwatching. Plenty of local hiking or biking activities with many not needing a car to get there. The hospitality Dorothy gave us was top notch as she even loaned us a cooler along with ice packs for our Puffin excursion. The Hayloft is worthy of being the only destination for holiday!

We have stayed here twice and it's lovely. Quiet, easy to find and a great size. Well equipped and great hosts!

Really enjoyed our stay at Sea Breezes. It felt like we were the first ever guests as it was so perfect and spotlessly clean. Light and airy, cleverly laid out and had everything we could need. Even nicer than it looks in the photos. There is a terrace to the side to sit out and have breakfast in the morning sun. Also two balconies with fabulous view over the bay towards Kerrera and Mull and a beautiful garden to the rear of the property. Great communication with Veronica, very friendly and informative. Though the hosts live next door they were not intrusive at all during our stay. Highly recommended.

Had a wonderful stay at Fiona's place. A real treat, beautifully decorated with everything one might need; including a secluded patio amid pretty surroundings. Located in a quiet residential location, not far from the City, but with great transport links. A great host, kind, friendly and responsive. Highly recommended!

Great place to stay in Hillhead! Easy access to the subway and to a lot of cool shops/restaurants. There is also a very cool cinema near by. Definitely recommend staying here.

A gorgeous haven in a fabulous location in scotstoun. We were visiting family nearby and it was a perfect place for us to relax and unwind. The bathroom is stunning and everything was very well equipped. The bedding was also amazing - we’ll be getting new bedding at home for sure after our stay here. We even managed a log fire in the log burner - if you follow the instructions you won’t go wrong. Thanks to Ann and Phil for being so flexible and helpful throughout our stay. We had a wonderful and peaceful stay. James, the host, was incredibly kind and accommodating. The accommodation was clean, and we had everything we needed. James and his dog made our vacation in Scotland even more special. Highly recommend!

Andrea's place was magical. Cozy and packed with so much homeliness. Andrea and Rob pay personal attention to the details of their place. They also met and greeted us with welcome munchies. They were both so informative about Skye and their experiences. The location also has a great bakery - Manuela's, just a stone's throw away and a local chocolate confectionary nearby. We chose this place as a base into Skye and also other nature areas. The Tempur bed is a first and I am going to buy it.

The Wee Annex was a great place to stay for 3 nights. There was plenty of on street parking available. It's also within walking distance of the centre of Fort William (although you do need to be fairly fit to have a pleasant return walk up the steep hill after dinner and drinks out)! Everything was clean and as described.

A nice quiet place, close to a major supermarket. Within walking distance to Stirling town centre. Spotlessly clean and tidy, decent sized room, comfortable bed, plenty of storage space and a big bonus was plenty of bath towels. Bathroom/shower room was perfect. Excellent vallue for money and a great location. Wouldnt hesitate to stay there again.

Wonderful place, cosy, clean, cute plus a cabin! What a lovely retreat and few nights in this unique place. Janey is delightful as a host and her place is a one-of-a-kind find. The comfiest of bunk beds, with handy shelves on the right, lots of charging points and while it's space-efficient we had no issues with storage with and outside lobby for boots, coats and suitcases. No issues with temperature as others had eluded to, and warms up quickly when it did get a bit chilly. The cabin is the star attraction (apart from Knoydart itself of course), making brekkie while looking onto a wonderful forest, your own waterfall, wildlife either hiding from the rain/midges or spilling out to the sea-front outdoor seating. has everything you need, cooking materials, a hob, microwave, fridge, midge spray, table and seating, kettle, storage boxes...even fairylights! knoydart is lovely too, the pub, shop, brewery, cafe and knutshell local walking loop. we'll be back!

A beautiful retreat near Elgol on the Isle of Skye. Located off the beaten track and ideally situated for those wanting to do sea tours at Elgol and the Spar Cave (both of which we did and would recommend). The lodge has a nice, functional kitchen with easy to use white goods and oven, including a dishwasher which was very handy. The bedroom was spacious and cosy and the bathroom was nice and clean. The view from the bedroom and living space is unbeatable. Would recommend.

Keith & Tess are super friendly and their place is neat and clean. From toiletries to kitchenware, they are very considerate and think of the needs of their guests. Highly recommend their place to guests who plan to visit Isle of Skye. Thanks again Keith & Tess!
