Family-friendly vacation rentals in Livingston County

This was an absolutely beautiful and spacious home, and, most importantly, extremely clean. Plenty of towels, bedding, extra supplies for cooking, cleaning and entertainment. There were very clear, explicit instructions for everything, which, as a slightly OCD person, I very much appreciate and can relate. My family enjoyed our stay so much that we left the wedding early that we came to Michigan for, so we could put the kids to bed and relax in this comfortable home. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Lisa and Phil have an amazing place and go above and beyond as hosts! They had fresh pastries, fruit, and flowers waiting for us. The kitchen is well stocked with pantry essentials and cooking gear. The property is immedicable and exemplifies Phil's wood-working craftsmanship. We took full advantage of the hot tub and also a tour of Phil's downstairs wood shop. While initially concerned about the train, we found it an exciting perk and our sleep was never disturbed even without ear plugs. We were lucky enough to be able to stay for 2 weeks and will definitely be recommending the "lodge" to friends and family!

This place offers a lot for a good value. The back yard is awesome! There is a very nice fire pit and a few chairs to relax in. Hosts were very responsive and gave clear check in and check out instructions. Definitely recommend staying here.

We had a wonderful stay, in a beautiful home and neighborhood. Our hosts made us feel right at home. It was an inviting and charming house. The deck and backyard were perfect for a small, family graduation gathering.

We traveled to the area for a wedding and appreciated finding a very reasonably priced place to stay for the 7 of us in our group. The house was clean and owners very responsive. As other reviewers have mentioned, the signage in the neighborhood against Airbnb's made us a little nervous, but we had zero issues with neighbors and the entire time we spent at the house was quiet and peaceful. The pizza place and general store near the house were great stops for food and drinks/snacks when we arrived in town. When our daughter forgot one of her dolls at the house, Greg quickly mailed it back to us which was very appreciated. If we had to do it over again, we would have gladly stayed in the same house.

Carol was amazing from the get go! She made our family feel at home right off the bat. The house and property are beautiful. My children and family dog loved exploring the woods and pond. Property maintained perfectly. Carol thinks of everything if you have children down to sandwich bags in the kitchen. Would definitely stay with her again, such a pleasure ❤️

Alayne was super responsive to my questions. The house is awesome. We had plenty of space to spread out. Loved the huge backyard and fire pit. Thank you so much.

This is our 2nd time at Maureen's home... and we will keep coming! The place is immaculate, well appointed, very functional and in a peaceful area. It is ideal if you are visiting U of Michigan campus (only 15-20 minutes away) yet want to be a bit away of all the hassle and have a lot more space than a hotel room. Plus, Maureen is always friendly and easy to communicate with!

Cozy and clean and comfortable Convenient location easy to get around town to stores and close to highways. Aaron was very responsive and fixed issues quickly. I will return as this home that worked out well for my family s needs.

The decor and space of the home was cozy and very comfortable. Cheryl was very kind and left breakfast for us! We thought the treehouse would be a little closer to the house, (about an acre away from the main house) so my adult kids were not happy about being in a separate space entirely, especially with no bathroom. I thought it was darling though.

We stayed at Joseph's with our two young kiddos for three nights. We are super happy we found the house available and it lived up to its description 100%. The place is super cozy. The kitchen is GREAT. The main bedroom has a better mattress (and far superior pillows) than the JW Marriot we stayed at three weeks ago. Medium firmness and ultra-supportive! 10/10 on the mattress & bedding. THANK YOU!!! For the kids: The downstairs play area was much fun for our 4-1/2 yr-old girl and the air hockey was a blast. The bathroom had a kid's stool and the tub was kid-friendly (and still very comfortable for an adult). The house is very kid-friendly, but note that there is a staircase to the basement which is open to the main level. This was not a problem for us as our 1-3/4 yr-old was finally slightly intimidated by something (or he just didn't feel like making a break for it). For toddlers, you might ask about a gate. We would absolutely stay here again w/wo kids!

Annette’s home was the perfect place for my family as we celebrated my mom’s 70th birthday. The space was clean, spacious, and welcoming for all ages. The beds were super comfortable, the carpet was plush, and the air hockey table was a fun bonus! Annette communicated clearly and made sure we had everything we needed. I’d absolutely stay here again—she truly made us feel at home.

The house was clean and a short walk from classic University of Michigan spots. Right next to the Big House! The host was very communicative with easy and clear check in/check out instructions.

Christine was very helpful and responsive. I appreciate her flexibility! the fold out cot was very helpful with my 3.5 year old.

We had a wonderful weekend at Dinh’s place. Cute interior with everything you could need and more. Very clean and easy to check in, and the host was very friendly. Would highly recommend staying here if you’re coming to East Lansing!

Marian's place was perfect for us. Very well-appointed and centrally located. She was very helpful whenever we reached out to her.

We love historic areas/buildings with their charm and aesthetics! This place had it all. Great price - better than a hotel - and convenient location for getting around!

Short version – We were very pleased with Agnes’s place and we highly recommend it. Everything was great. Longer version – The place is very clean, in a safe and quiet neighborhood. We did not come with children, but we can tell that it is very good for children both inside and outside in a big and green back yard. The place has everything we needed and it is nice decorated. A cozy, comfortable, clean, and restful place to stay within a quiet and beautiful neighborhood.

Great place to stay for a weekend in Ann Arbor. Close to downtown and campus. Plenty of parking between driveway and across street. Nice, private back yard.
