Oasis Above The Lake (10 miles to Gettysburg)

LindsayRating, 5 stars1 week ago
The Oasis was exactly that - a beautiful, serene spot on the lake with all of the necessities and EXTRAS! The screened in porch and deck are incredible - spring had sprung so the view did not disappoint. Not only was there fresh bread upon arrival, Tierra asked the age of my kids beforehand and had a special Easter basket for them, the pack-n-play set up and children-sized robes hanging in their closet; within the first 20 minutes of being there they both said "this is the best life ever!". I'll never forget it. They are 5, 3 and 1. Tierra also left a ton of recommendations based upon our interests - all EXCELLENT. It's a great location to do absolutely nothing or to explore the surrounding areas. We spent a ton of time on the battlefield and it was an easy 20 minute. Great spot to chill out while my youngest was napping and wind down when everyone was asleep. Couldn't recommend it more.
A scenic view of the Susquehanna River is visible, featuring a wooden dock extending into the calm water. Lush green grass leads up to the water's edge, framed by large trees providing shade. Distant hills and a clear blue sky complement the tranquil setting.

Hot Tub, Historic, Rural Setting, Convenient

JeffRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had a very nice time at the house! It's super convenient to the Harper's Ferry National Park, just up the road. The house was clean, and we appreciated the extra towels, the new grill and the wide variety of kitchen utensils. The hot tub was clean and very nice as well. There is road noise from the nearby highway, and the fire pit space was not as idyllic as we had imagined. But, it was a nice place to return to after exploring, and the location did have a convenience benefit- Walmart and other shops being just a few miles away.

Yellow Breeches Cottage - Dog Friendly

DenisRating, 5 stars20 months ago
The place is nice and comfortable. It is right by the river and it is very peaceful. Me and the dogs had a very good time. I have to say I had a hiccups during my staying. The cleaning person did not show up the day prior of my arrival, I did communicated to Rachel and she was so nice, caring and the response I received from her was exceptional. It was so nice and easy to communicate with her. Overall everything was great and do recommend this host.

Holly Point Guest Cottage

SheilaRating, 5 stars4 months ago
The location is absolutely beautiful! There is so much wildlife to see, and you're right on the water. Melissa was an amazing host, and the place was spotless. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking and the living/dining room space was way bigger than it looked in the pictures, so there was plenty of room for 5 adults. We had an amazing weekend relaxing and enjoying the peace, quiet and beauty of Holly Point, and we would definitely stay here again.

Gettysburg Getaway! Battlefield/Wineries/Ski/Hike!

RondaRating, 5 stars6 months ago
We had a wedding in the area and the house was minutes from the venue. The home was very clean and well furnished. It was perfect for our family. We enjoyed playing pool in the basement and the pond across the street was beautiful with the changing leaves as a backdrop. Time did not allow us to fish as much as we had wanted to. Gettysburg was less than 15 minutes away. We enjoyed the quaint area as well as the national military park. Check-in was easy and Shane was very helpful with restaurant recommendations.

Nature Escape Walk to C&O Towpath & Potomac River

RichardRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Lisa has prepared the perfect nest—thoughtful discoveries like books in the bath, a cuddly sofa, yoga mat, and everything a cook needs. It’s the kind of place that is precious, but not so precious that you are scared of breaking things. There is plenty of wildlife to keep a birder happy, as well as Bambie fans. Things to do: Harper’s Ferry is good for history buffs. If you are vegetarian, we recommend The Rabbit Hole—good food and brews. Make sure you walk quaint Shepherdstown—breakfast all day at Betty’s diner, and cute shops featuring natural clothing and local hand-made items. If you encounter rain, just pick a winery. We had a great tasting at Big Cork (thanks to recommendation from Grapes and Grains wine shop :)). If you are a hiker, check out the canal path near the house. Maybe you’ll find a cave! Whatever happens, your stay at the cabin will impart some of the best decorating/storage tips ever thanks to a wise decorator.
