Lake cabins in Lake Dunmore

Where do I start...from before I arrived, up until my departure...Joanne was attentive in every way possible. All my questions were answered with an immediate response. The home was extraordinary. The effort Joanne has put in to making it just like home shows. With an abundance of whimsical touches. Up until the day I left, I would see a new thing. As if the enchanting home wasn't enough, the back patio is a place of serenity...with the sounds and view of the river extraordinary. I could go on and on, but I will just say, "it was the best vacation I have ever had". One word describes this Airbnb...AMAZING!!!🩷. I will return next year! Didn't want to leave!!! 😊 Thank you Joanne for your exemplary hospitality!

We had an amazing stay at Bjorn's beautiful home where it was as picture-perfect as advertised! It is a gorgeous and modern home that was clean, well-stocked, and uniquely designed in such stunning surroundings (even in the rainy weather!). We cannot recommend Bjorn's home enough and are so appreciative of his accommodations in helping us celebrate our Middlebury grad!

Thank you, Palmer for an enjoyable stay at your beautiful lake house. We came up for a college tour of UVM and the location was perfect. It took us only 20 minutes to get there and then at the end of our day we came back to relax and unwind at your comfy and spotless home. Every room was beautifully furnished , comfortable and really just felt homey. The kids enjoyed hanging out downstairs watching movies while the adults enjoyed cocktails and talking all while taking in the amazing view of the lake. We had a wonderful time and would certainly return. Only two minor issues, one of which just might have been our own unfamiliarity with the home. The living room gets really warm and even though we turned down the thermostat, it kept creeping up. But it could have even been the fact that it was so sunny one of the days we were there. A minor issue. Outside, the railing to get down from the deck to the yard is a bit wobbly in places and may be due to be replaced soon. Also, no big deal.

John's place was perfect for us to enjoy three days of much needed family time. We played games sitting in the living room with morning coffee or evening wine. We made some simple meals, cooked fiddle heads. The high speed internet helped my daughter to complete some work. We basically enjoyed the second spring there as the field around the house were filled with tulips.

I can only say wonderful things about this property! Everything was beautiful both inside and out. The house was very clean and organized and was also extremely well stocked. Anything that we needed we found in this house. And everyone in our group said the beds were very comfortable… which is very important to me! Erik was great with communication and very proactive. He sent us a note about a week before we checked in that had everything we needed to know; it was quite helpful. I highly recommend this home….and as an added bonus, the view is spectacular! You will not be disappointed if you stay here!

My husband and I had an amazing time. The sauna was amazing and we took a lovely canoe ride. As we melted our stress away in your beautiful home.

A fantastic week, The home is a great place to relax and get away. I highly recommend renting this location for the views and amenities. The host does not leave a thousand chores to do when you go to leave like other hosts. If you’re ever thinking about renting in lake George, save this listing.

Lovely home in a lovely setting. The view is breathtaking and Barbara has outfitted the space woth everything you could possibly need. She is extremely thoughtful and personable. The area is great for hiking and outdoor activities but is also near Middlebury College and Burlington.

Exceptional experience! This is one of the relaxing place I have ever been! Large windows give you sense of experience living in nature. The stunning view gives you awesome feeling in any weather conditions.The house is nice, clean and equipped with pretty much everything. They have all the utensils for cooking and lots of toys for kids both indoor and outdoor. They also have paddles boat and kayak to use at anytime ! In addition, Brian is very respectful, responsible and quick to respond for any questions. All together Feel like you live in your own house. Great vacation spot without any doubt.

the place is awesome, my only critique is the main bathroom has a deep tub and I'm old, a grab handle to assist in getting in & out would have helped me

We stayed at Kate‘s place for college graduation at Middlebury. It was the perfect hideaway for our family to relax when not attending events at the college. I absolutely loved the beautiful wide plank, wood floors. Stunning! The decor is perfect for a lake house and you get complete solitude as the house sits back from the street. Would stay again.

Cute place. Perfect for what we needed. Property could have been kept up a little better (leaves, yard, etc) but I think its just because we were probably the first rental after winter. The inside was clean and had everything we needed.

Kelly’s place was an absolute dream! The space is fully renovated and even still smells “new.” The views are incredible and the space feels so cozy with lots of privacy. The house has everything you need and nothing you don’t. Kelly was incredibly helpful and responsive to my many questions before check-in. We brought our 20’ boat and there was just enough room to maneuver. We didn’t end up even taking the boat out though because we enjoyed being at the house that much! We had so much fun fishing from shore, the catfish and bullhead kept us very busy, with a few surprise species mixed in as well. We barely heard the trains when they passed by and weren’t bothered by them at all. Mornings out by the water, sipping coffee, reading a book, while my boyfriend caught fish, then enjoying breakfast on the deck— it can’t be beat! This was a perfect little getaway to unplug from the rest of the world and to recharge with some peace and quiet accompanied by beautiful views! Can’t wait to return!

This is my third time staying at Golden Hour. It is a lovely place on the lake. Morgan has furnished it nicely and the kitchen has all of the necessary items you will ever need for your stay. I love this place and I'll be back!

The perfect place to stay on a ski vacation! 15 minutes from Killington with a hot tub in picturesque scenery to unwind after the day while looking at the stars.

Exceeded all my expectations. The property was the perfect escape for nature lovers and those seeking a peaceful retreat. One of the standout features was the private fire pit, where we spent every evening roasting marshmallows and making s’mores under the stars. The owners really thought of everything. They provided kayaks for us to explore the calm waters at our leisure, which became a daily adventure. The house itself was immaculate, tastefully decorated with a rustic-chic vibe, and equipped with all the modern comforts you could ask for. Highly recommend!

The location is peaceful and beautiful. Loved having our morning coffee on the dock overlooking the lake and autumn leaves. Enjoyed kayaking to Paddlers Pub for drinks & food. The cottage is very cozy and just enough space for 2 people.

The cabin was just what we needed. It was close to skiing and loved the bunk beds for my two kids. The bathroom was a little small but worked great for the few days we were there. It was clean and had everything we needed. We would love to check this place out when we can use the lake. :)

Exactly as advertised - beautiful, very private, clean; a perfect place for a solo/couple getaway. Seamless communication and logistics with the friendly hosts, who clearly maintain the cabin with care. Book it!

My husband and I stayed at Lisa's cottage while visiting our daughter who is living in Hinesburg. It was the most peaceful house and setting I have experienced through airbnb. This remark is not just in response to the lake, trees and views but because there were no abnormal issues, we received detailed instructions on how to find the home and our hosts were very responsive - absolutely no complications or disappointments. The description and photos on the airbnb site were spot on and we were able to cook several meals. I must mention the dogs - they are incredibly well behaved and my daughter loved them. She misses our family dog, so being with Lisa's was a real treat. They did not come to the cottage and did not jump all over us when we were near them. Finally, the setting is absolutely beautiful and I 100% recommend staying over and over again!

I’ve stayed at many Airbnb. David’s place has the best stocked kitchen hands down. I loved all the coffee and tea options. There’s also a fridge full of wine. Checking out the snack basket was fun too. David also has a huge record album collection, a surround sound audio system and a huge TV in the living room and bedroom. All of which makes it fun to stay inside, explore and relax. The basement apartment is down the hill with 10-12 stone steps. David offered to help unload our car. If you have mobility issues, the steps could be a challenge. The bathroom door is warped and doesn’t close. If you require privacy, that might bother you. All in all, David’s place is rustic and cozy. David himself is a kind host. The area is green and beautiful. I didn’t get a chance to fish in the lake across the street though I read it’s quite nice. Burlington VT is a nice one hour road trip. Lots of hiking trails nearby if you prefer something closer.

Noreen was very responsive and helpful leading up to our trip. Check in/out was seamless and we really enjoyed our stay. The view of the lake is lovely and it is a nice quiet neighborhood!
