Harben Cottage is a 150 year old traditional stone cottage - 5mins drive from the Heritage Town of Ardara (20mins walk). Set amongst lush green hills & sitting next to a bubbling mountain stream. A mixture of new and old; low doorways, a turf fireplace, water supplied from a mountain spring, but also a gas cook top, oven, microwave, WIFI, & central heating. NB: that the toilet & shower are housed in outside annex - this may not suit everyone but adds a touch of authenticity for the brave!

This modern, luxurious cottage is truly special. It is located in the Tawnawully mountains by Lough Eske. It is set on 12 acres with a river running through it and a tumbling waterfall right by the cottage. Only 15 minutes drive to Donegal town, which has some really nice restaurants and bars. There is a castle to explore in the town and a wonderful craft village with a very good cafe. Ten minutes drive to Harveys Point and twelve minutes from Lough Eske castle, both reputable 5 * hotels.

Extraordinary, Off-Grid Donegal Cottage

We spent a wonderful week in Roland's cottage. It was a perfect off-grid getaway at the end of the world, with the stunning Donegal coast right on the door step, and only the sheep as company. We managed to see just a fraction of the things this stunning part of the world has to offer, so we will be back. Even though we expected to spent the week by the firestove with books, the weather in mid October was great, always changing, with much more sunshine than we hoped for. Highly recommended!

Wir waren für vier Tage die Gäste in Charles Unterkunft. Wir haben jeden Tag sehr genossen. Es ist ein wunderbar ruhiger Ort mit einer unfassbar schöne Aussicht. Wir hatten das große Glück von perfekten Wetter und saßen auch oft draußen. Charles ist großartig. Er brachte uns am Anreistag einen Begrüßungswein und erklärte uns alles. Aufgrund der sommerlichen Temperaturen brachte er uns auch noch einen Ventilator. Er ist ein sehr freundlicher Gastgeber. Die Lage der Unterkunft ist auch für Unternehmungen ideal. Gerne wieder. This is the perfect place for a completely relaxing getaway. The house is gorgeous, and the views from the upstairs living area in particular are stunning. It's only a short walk down to the closest beach, but there is so much to discover within an hour's drive and we had some really wonderful days out. Colm's recommendations were so helpful for this, and he was happy to give us advice to help make the most of our time in Donegal. If you're looking for somewhere to wind down and spend time in the great outdoors, look no further than Lakeview Cottage.

We had a fabulous stay at The Cope, from the moment we arrived we felt at home (particularly with home made scones waiting for us)! The location is great, a short walk to the stunning beach at Narin/Portnoo but still feels very private. The joining instructions and all the local recommendations were also really helpful and meant we were able to keep all everyone (Including our dog) very happy with our stay.

An open-plan living area is highlighted by a striking stone feature wall with a mounted television. A wood-burning stove sits at the center, surrounded by a slate base. The kitchen area features wooden cabinetry and modern appliances, contributing to the warm atmosphere.

We really enjoyed the thatch cottage. Very homey and comfortable. It was a little cool so we appreciated the peat fire. Loved the area. If WiFi connectivity is a big priority, know that the connection is weak and a bit spotty but there are better things to do here than be online, so enjoy!
