Family-friendly vacation rentals in Kuils River

We had the most wonderful stay at The Lookout. A well equipped, beautiful space with amazing views. St James itself is also a lovely spot. We loved looking in the unique shops, having coffees, and feeling so free, we would definitely like go back. Imraan and his family were so friendly and welcoming. Just what we needed after a long stressful journey.

Great place! Loved the pedal boat option. Perhaps not so ideal if you have toddlers because the staircase does not have rails. Minor issue really and other than that we had a good stay.

What a wonderful time we had in Alex’s beautiful Higgovale House with its special atmosphere. A home from home we felt immediately at ease. The tropical gardens give the feeling of being in the midst of the jungle - despite being only minutes from the lively Kloof Street with its many restaurants and coffee shops (wine bar/coffee shop/deli Tamboerswinkel deserves a special mention). We felt very safe at night and enjoyed being able to access Cape Town‘s sights quickly. A highlight was our hike to Lions Head - again only a stone throw away from the house. Alex’s great communication throughout our stay was not surprising, given his friendly welcome and advice and whilst we didn’t stay long enough to get to know her, housekeeper Barbara also seemed very friendly and attentive. We will be back!

This is our second stay at Thilo & Cheryl's house in De Waterkant. We love this house! The location is amazing. It is within walking distance of everything in the ever evolving Waterkant area. We also enjoy walking to the waterfront from here which is about 15-20 minutes walk. The house is beautiful. Everything has a premium feel and it is super cosy. Lots of cushions on the sofa, comfy beds and bedding. The kitchen has everything if you enjoy cooking. Smart TV for nights in. There is an amazing view from the living area topped only by the view from the rooftop! The roof is incredible. Great loungers for sunbathing and an outdoor sofa for drinks and relaxing. The hot tub is great and it all looks out over the waterfront and the bay beyond. The location is great for driving in and out of cape town on the highway and also easy for central cape town with restaurants and grocery stores nearby. Thilo and Cheryl are very responsive and friendly making this a truly special place to stay

Spacious apartment with everything we needed. Waking up, opening the curtains and watching the sun rise over the sea, whilst sipping a morning coffee was truly special. He best start to the day. A fantastic base to explore from and it was lovely to come back to and relax at the end of the day, felt very homely.

Perfect location, walkable to the vibe of Kloof and Bree street, A short drive to all the epic beaches, so close to Table mountain hiking or cable car. Beautiful, quirkly victorian, the deck is outstanding with 360 degree views of city and mountains. Kids had a blast in the hot tub. Felt safe and secure. Hosts were responsive and gave us a tour of the house. House a little dark inside but you will want to spend all the time on the roof anyway. Found the kitchen a bit un-user friendly. Not much counter space and fridge far away. But you will want to braai/bbq outisde anyway and spoilt for choice with coffee shops just around the corner. Overall a really wonderful experience!

Amazing wooden cottage, I could see only this one in the area as most other houses around were in modern styles. Makes you feel that you are living in a cabin by the sea away from the world, though you have other houses around, the view of the bay and sea is immense. You can watch the sunrise from there and one morning we saw dolphins! The place is spacious and well equipped, the terrace is amazing to spend hours on watching the ocean. We were there between seasons so it wasn’t cold nor hot, it was perfect!

Swan Cottage was well appointed and conveniently located. Liebrecht was very helpful and accommodating to us.

Wir waren 13 Nächte zu Gast im wunderschönen Haus von Andrea und Ian und haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt! Die beiden Gastgeber waren sehr herzlich, immer gut erreichbar und standen uns mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Das Haus ist liebevoll eingerichtet und bestens ausgestattet. Toll war, dass sogar Pooltücher zur Verfügung gestellt wurden. Die Lage hat uns besonders gut gefallen. Ein kurzer Spaziergang führt zum schönen, langen Sandstrand, zum Ortskern mit netten Cafés, Restaurants und kleinen Shops geht man etwa 30 Minuten. Kommetjie ist der ideale Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge in die Kap-Provinz. Wir würden die Unterkunft jederzeit wieder buchen. Danke für eure Gastfreundschaft, liebe Andrea und lieber Ian.

We had a wonderful stay at Philip's place. The house is very spacious and the location is great. It was easy to communicate with Philip and he was very flexible. We stayed for a bit over a week at the beginning of our South Africa trip, and booked again for our last night as we liked the place so much.

We spent 3 blissful days Ilah's place. An idyllic location with stunning views of the ocean and the mountain. The house was well maintained and very well equipped. Ilah was responsive and accommodating when we needed to change dates. We do not hesitate in recommending Ilah's place, if you are looking for peace, beauty, ease and a homey feeling.

Thank you Daleen for a truly wonderful stay in your stunning cottage. Beautifully decorated and sun-filled with a kitchen that had everything we needed. Glorious gardens and access to the family pool. The location can’t be beaten. Close to Kirstenbosch Gardens, 15 minutes to Muizenberg and an easy ride into town. One of the most beautiful air b n b’s we have stayed in. Highly recommend and would definitely stay there again. Thank you.

Tanya was thee absolute best ,a perfect host ,very helpful aswell as her helper ,the place was easy to find and I must say the pictures don’t do it any justice it’s a beautiful place clean and the kitchen has everything we needed for our stay ,the pool kept the kids busy as it was so hot ,she even gave us an extra day 🌸I must say she was one of the kindest individuals that have ever hosted me ,I appreciate all she did for myself and my family ..

We had an awesome time at Daniel’s place. The house is spacious and well apportioned and the location is ideal with a short walk to the beach and all the shops / restaurants in Sea Point. House is very well kitted out especially for kids with loads of toys and books to keep the little ones entertained. Ireen was also a god send - she kept the house spotless and also looked after our little one! We’ll definitely be back!

Superb place with a genuine ‘home’ feel to it. Lots of communal space inside and out and a gorgeous garden to enjoy. Tracy is a super host - responsive and shared loads of advice what to do locally. Hout Bay is a 10 min drive.

I rented the house for my wife, two kids and some friends. We had a very great stay and a good time at the house. Everything was as expected and described by the owners. We had a very good communication with them before and during our stay. They are so lovely and helpful. Restaurants are close, also grocery store and a mall. The beach is just 7 minutes away by car and around 20-35min to downtown depending on traffic. Also once a week the house is cleaned with no extra charge. All together 5 Stars from us! Jane’s glasshouse is a peaceful and thoughtfully designed retreat, offering a perfect place to unwind while being close to the winelands. The setting is tranquil, with attention to detail that makes the space feel welcoming and comfortable. Jane is a gracious and responsive host, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable stay. Rafa, her friendly golden retriever, is a delightful presence, adding to the charm of the place. We had a restful time and would happily return when in the area.
