Built from natural materials, with electricity coming from solar power, huts will keep you warm at night and cool during the day. Rooms are equipped with comfy beds, warm blankets, carpets and simple shelves for clothes. Full Moroccan breakfast is served every day and is always included in the price. My riad is located in m'Hamid, where roads end and the Sahara begins. M'Hamid is located 100km South of Zagora, about one hour by car. One can't find to sleep closer to the desert short of planting a tent! The village is quiet and peaceful and my riad is a traditional house built around a lovely relaxing courtyard where you can gaze at the stars while sipping your tea!

The camp is beautiful and quite remote so you really can disconnect and feel like you’re in the wild. Brahim is a gracious host, his drum skills are incredible and the night by the fire in intimate surroundings with only 4 other guests felt like you truly saw a moment of life in the desert. The bed was very comfortable and the covers super warm even in the freezing desert night.

A traditional clay dish is filled with eggs and small meatballs, garnished with herbs and tomatoes. Two spoons rest nearby on a wooden table, with a glass and a plate of black grapes visible alongside.

BOOK THIS PLACE! Seriously, Said is amazing, the space is beautiful, easy to find, clean, quiet. Wonderful breakfast, great water, comfortable bed, and Said stayed up late to receive me, was responsive, and in good communication (we spoke in 4 languages!!). A really good man in a great location.

One of the best places I’ve stayed at while traveling ! Said came to pick me up in the village in the evening and brought me back in the morning even if it was very early. He was very kind and friendly during my stay and helped me when needed, I felt at home right away 😊 The camp is located in a very peaceful and quiet place in the desert : it’s a perfect place to relax ! There is also a dog, Eva, who is very playful and (almost) never tired. I’ll miss waking up to her asking me to play ! If you love dogs, this is definitely THE place to go !

Sono arrivata la sera. La notte impediva di vedere altro. Poi L incontro con Brahim , sempre serio , gentile ma professionale e composto. Poi la sorpresa : i fari illuminavano un percorso diverso e diverso appariva tutto con il fuoristrada che scansava cumuli di detriti. All accampamento la conferma che qualcosa di grave era successo. La cena ottima è stata servita in una sala diversa più bella e nuova ma distante da quella che ricordavo. Così le stanze. Nuove , belle, ma altre. La recente e grave inondazione ha cambiato tutto e le ferite sono ancora presenti ovunque in tutta la zona ed ha messo a dura prova tutti che hanno e stanno facendo grandi sacrifici . Con dignità come a Marrakech dopo il terremoto. Ma qui è il Deserto. Accampamenti e non Hotels. Con tempeste di sabbia che in un attimo seppelliscono tutto il lavoro appena fatto. Tutto come nelle nostre vite cambia in un attimo , qui ancora di più. Con il vento che disegna nuove forme.E’ Natura, e’ Verità . E’ il Deserto. ❤️
