Villa Vonkka - a stunning island spot by the sea

We had a wonderful holiday season at Larissa's island vacation home. Our 3 families felt right at home in this large, very personal house in the southern archipelago of Finland, from the shot and yet quite close to Kotka and Helsinki. From the airport it is only an hour to the jetty and from there you will soon be on the island. The cottage is wonderfully located on the southern tip of the island. There is plenty of space to linger inside (4 separate bedrooms are really exceptional) and outside, sun and wind all day. This is how the weeks are (too) fast. The kitchen is very well equipped. Even with a large chalkboard, everything is not a test, again both indoors and outdoors. The new sauna gets warm quickly. It offers a beautiful view to the sea. Larissa is a great host and so we had very nice days. I fully recommend Villa Vonkka, assuming some experience in island life.

We had an excellent family weekend getaway. The place is peaceful and the cottage very well oriented with sea and forest views. The sauna was working perfectly and we were able to test swimming in cold water. Despite the rain, our stay was very nice. The interior is very cocooning and good for reading with plenty of nooks for everyone. The place should also be crazy in the summer for nature lovers.

Hosted in this lovely beachfront leisure home for 2 weeks. Everything went smoothly, and I would especially compliment the most beautiful landscape in the world that opens from the hillside of the cottage to the shore. On the beach, the pier I went for a dip after the sauna, definitely a place worth recommending!

Nice experience! Messaging with the host went smoothly, and check-in was successful so I got one-to-one guidance on the stay. The place is wonderfully peaceful and the opposite village sauna can be heard. The canoes were a lovely addition, but I didn't have time to use them. There's no convenience store and no services, so bring your own snacks. Otherwise, a great place to stay!

Beach Kari's cottage is in a great location by the sea, on a beautiful island. Karhula and Kotka services a short drive away. Neighbors are close, but the area is very peaceful. The cottage is cozy and atmospheric, with everything you need. Big warm terrace with seascape best in the cottage. Thanks!

We enjoyed Pyhä in the atmospheric log cabin of Kivikoski very well for less than a week. The location near the highway was good. The cottage, barn, and yard matched the description. A wonderful place in a stunning historic and rustic milieu, yet close to services. The beach of the river was enchanting and we had a very warm weather, so swimming and paddling in the river was a favorite thing there. There was a big yard where it was great to play badminton and soccer with kids, as well as a well-equipped kitchen, a great setting for cooking and enjoying! In the heat, the ice maker was absolutely a bonus! It went very well!
