APPI no Mori no Ikken Sora is a wonderful place to spend a heart-enriching time in a quiet environment surrounded by beautiful nature in all seasons. Sora is located within the APPI Snow Mountain Resort area, just 2 minutes by car to the slopes and 5 minutes to the golf course. At the same time, you can access the bustling city of Morioka in just 60 minutes by car, making it a very convenient base for sightseeing in the three prefectures of Iwate, Aomori, and Akita in the Northeast. We recommend using a private vehicle to enjoy a relaxing vacation. The APPI Snow Mountain Resort area has shops, restaurants, and convenience stores, and there is also a supermarket about 20 minutes away by car. There are also great hot spring areas such as Matsukawa Onsen, and Hachimantai Ski Resort and Shimokura Ski Resort are also nearby. It is a cool highland area at an altitude of 900 m, so you can enjoy the natural air conditioning in the summer and a comfortable stay in the warm rooms in the winter. Shizukuishi Town in Iwate Prefecture is a tourist destination where you can enjoy Koiwai Farm, Lake Goshiki, ski resorts, and hot springs. 　Minpaku Halcoya is located near Lake Goshiki, overlooking Mt. Iwate. This facility was built using trees from the town to allow people to experience the warmth of living with wood.   　If you are interested in Shizukuishi life, want to relax in nature, enjoy time with family and friends in a different space than usual... please come and visit us. Halcoya Hanare is a separate building from Halcoya, and is an owner-less, entire home rental. This is a small, newly built house that can accommodate up to 3 people. * Please note that Halcoya Hanare does not currently have WiFi.

Experience the incredible natural surroundings and hike the wonder of Oirase Gorge or ski-in/ski-out at nearby Oirase Keiryu Ski Resort.

This is an old thatched house built in 143 years ago. The family that has lived in the house for generations has protected it, but it was planned to be demolished because of the financial issues in 2014. In order to preserve the original landscape of the satoyama for the next generation, we revitalize the house as a membership guest house. However, the activities were stopped due to the pandemic. In June 2024 we reopened the house as a private accommodation place (rental vacation house).

　宿泊施設は山あいにある築36年の昔ながらのたたずまいを残している古い和風の一軒家です。和室8畳１間と10畳2間の広々としたスペースがあることから家族旅行あるいは親しい友人同士のグループ旅行に適した間取りです。もちろん、お一人様のご予約も承ります。予約された日には他のゲストは受け入れません。ただし、各お部屋の仕切りは襖だけなのでプライベートなお部屋としてはお使いになれません。300坪の敷地内に建てられた住宅のため、隣家とは離れているのでご近所に気兼ねなく滞在できます。暑い時期の夜には前庭でのバーベキューや花火などに興じることも可能です。もし、星に興味をお持ちなら晴れた夜には保有する光学機器で星空もご案内いたします。日中はドローンを使って庭先の上空から周辺の山々を空中散歩することも可能です。ここは都会では決して味わうことのない静かで自然豊かな環境と岩手県の遠野と共通する南部地方特有の古い伝統文化を今も色濃く残した地域です。なお、11月から翌年3月19日までの期間は冬季休業となります。
