Megumi made us feel right at home! she was super friendly and supportive of everything we wanted, and she even went all out to celebrate our engagement with her family! During the trip, she brought us around and helped us have an absolute blast! The cooking lesson was also superb; the food, the lesson, and the memories <3 Megumi would also take our preferences into account and prepare the visit to suit us! She's super attentive and immensely helpful :) Thank you for the stay, Megumi! We really enjoyed ourselves. This stay is easily the highlight of our trip <3

Feel Real Japan. brand-new, modern

EricaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Like many have mentioned, this was one of the best AirBnB stays I’ve ever had! Yoko’s place is an expression of her generosity — and her appreciation of beauty. We felt nourished physically and emotionally, from food provided for guests, the cleanliness and comfort, and Yoko’s warmth and responsiveness. The bicycles Yoko provides are such a great way to get around and experience Kyoto neighborhoods. I was traveling with my 16-year old nephew and he loved being able to bike off on his own and explore. Meeting Yoko’s father and getting a window into his mastery of bookbinding was also a wonderful experience. So many gems about our stay. Can’t wait to come back to Kyoto and spend more time at Yoko’s place!

This is my first time in Kyoto, and I stayed at my sister's homestay. The overall feeling is very happy. It feels like home. My sister's care gives people a warm feeling of a mother. We arrived in Kyoto at 6:00 on the first day. The lady came to pick up our luggage in the morning to let us travel light. Very considerate. She came to the station to pick us up at night. It made us feel very happy. The interior of the homestay is very good, clean and cozy, the surroundings are very quiet, the sister will definitely come to the station to pick us up when she is free, the room decoration is very cozy!!The sister also helped us wash the clothes that had some smell from the rainy season three days ago... There was really a feeling of coming home. Before🥹 we came back, the sister would turn on the air conditioner for us, and there were desserts to eat after washing (˶‾᷄ ⁻̫ ‾᷅˵) It was so happy... During the three days at the sister's house, the sister always arranged the itinerary for us, always sent messages to care about where we were, where we were sitting, afraid that we were sitting wrong, very kind, if there was🥹 a problem on the road, we could call the sister and it could be easily solved! On the way home, the sister was concerned about where we were, until we boarded the plane, she was relieved. In the afternoon, she was afraid that we would forget the time while shopping, and occasionally reminded us not to forget the flight time hahaha! It's really motherly care... The food my sister made is delicious!!!Considering that we haven't eaten Chinese food for several days and specially bought preserved eggs, it was🥹🥹 so happy to learn to cook Chinese food for us!!!!There are also many little things that make me feel happy, all of which filled the time I spent at my sister's house these days, so many that I can't list them all (´▽ `) (e.g. my sister's puppy Gin-chan is very well-behaved, very obedient, very cute... I love Sister Lily!!Very friendly, young at heart, very easy to communicate with the host sister...!I highly recommend everyone to stay at Sister's house!!!!Looking forward to coming back to Kansai next time, I will come back to stay at my sister's house!!

It’s a Jazz Resort !

MichaelRating, 5 stars2 months ago
We stayed at four airBnb‘s in Japan and all have their good points, but this was by far the best. Located in a quiet suburb so not walking distance to the main sites of Kyoto, but with some lovely sites that we would not have seen otherwise Close by. It was as simple Uber ride or train ride to get into Kyoto for main sightseeing and it was lovely to come home to a quiet un bustling local with a wide choice of excellent restaurants to choose among. The apartment itself is spacious, by far the most spacious we stayed in And it’s part of a an apartment complex which has a small gym. Nori and Fumi even served us breakfast all three days we were there in another upstairs breakfast room. To top it off, they picked this up and dropped us off at this train station three days later. All in all it was a really welcoming and comfortable place to stay, well worth the price we paid
A vibrant pathway is lined with trees adorned with bright red and orange leaves, creating a natural canopy overhead. Fallen leaves cover the ground, while visitors are seen walking along the stone path, heading toward a structure in the distance.

Tommy’s Doraemon-style Guest House 🏠✨🍳 This was my very first time staying in a guest house in Japan—and I couldn’t have asked for a better start. Tommy’s home in Kyoto felt like stepping into Doraemon’s world: warm, nostalgic, and full of Japanese charm. The tatami floors, sliding doors, and cozy corners made me feel like I was part of an old-school anime. But what really made this stay unforgettable was Tommy himself. Every morning, he would prepare breakfast for us—homemade, delicious, and filled with love. Honestly, it was one of the best meals I had in Japan, not because it was fancy, but because it was made with such genuine care. There’s something deeply touching about this place. It wasn’t just a place to sleep; it was where my journey in Japan began. And because of that, it holds a very special place in my heart. Thank you, Tommy, for creating such a heartfelt and beautiful experience.

Chieri was welcoming and the perfect host. Together with her mother Kauri-san and beautiful WabiSuke, they made us feel at home and gave us a little experience of living within a Japanese Community which is what we were seeking. From inviting us to a local Sushi restaurant to allowing us to share her Tea Ceremony class, Chieri has made our short stay truly memorable.

8 mins Walk to Center | Double Room | minato hotel

RyanRating, 5 stars2 months ago
I had a fantastic stay at this Airbnb in Kyoto! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to help out with any questions or needs. The location is great – it’s about a 10-15 minute walk to the nearest station and equally close to popular spots like Sanjo and Nishiki Market, making it easy to explore the area. One of the highlights of my stay was definitely the breakfast. It wasn’t just a standard continental breakfast – each morning, they prepared a full, delicious spread for every guest, which was such a treat to start the day. You could really feel the care and effort they put into making everyone feel at home. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. The only minor issue was the washer and dryer, which are a bit dated. The dryer took a while to dry a half load, so I’d recommend doing smaller loads or planning laundry for when you have some time to hang out. Overall, I loved my stay here and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting!
