Yuki’s stylish and comfortable renovation of a traditional home is a perfect base for a group of family and/or friends The kitchen is well appointed to prepare and share meals at the large handsomely hewed dining table. The home is nestled in the side of Mt. Kasagi’s base along a sweet babbling brook where birdsong accompanies dawn and dusk. Precious silence accompanies a sky full of stars on a clear night. Soaking in the bath overlooking the woods on the other side of the creek is the perfect way to renew after a day of exploring. A highlight of my stay was Yuki’s other project Boyko Forest Campground, which is a 30 minute drive up Mt. Kasagi. Boyko is a lovely and lively base for exploring walking trails that lead to stunning vistas and the local mountain shrine. While I was there early in the season, I can imagine how lively the center will be and what a pleasure it will be to enjoy many of the other offerings and activities his team have planned for the season.

Nous avons passé un super séjour, bien que trop court, chez Katsuyuki-san et Reiki-san. Avec d’abord une superbe communication par messages, un accueil très chaleureux et des instructions très claires, nous avons ensuite profité du logement et de tout ce qu’il fallait. Nous avons adoré cet endroit paisible, et aurions aimé rester plus longtemps dans ce petit coin de nature. Merci beaucoup, je recommande vivement !

このお値段でこの快適さ、本当にオーナー様も施設も最高でした。サウナ好きな彼がとても喜んでくれ、素敵な誕生日を過ごすことが出来ました。ありがとうございました。とても広く清潔で、設備もすごく整っており本当に時間が足りませんでした。また次は2泊以上でお世話になりたいと思います。ありがとうございました。

Assi è stato un host speciale: ci ha accolto il mattino per farci lasciare le valigie in anticipo e ci ha anche accompagnato a Magome, per darci la possibilità di partire subito con il sentiero Nakasendo. Sia da Nagoya sia poi da Nagiso la casa è di facile accesso, avendo la stazione vicinissima. Assi ci ha poi accolto la sera, una volta che la casa era stata preparata, per poterci mostrare gli spazi. La casa è spettacolare: un'antica casa tradizionale, con tanto di giardino interno. La cucina è spaziosa e con tutto per potersi cucinare qualcosa la sera, dopo delle giornate di trekking. Le stanze sono tantissime, essere in 2 in uno spazio così grande è stato come essere in una reggia. Se cercate tranquillità e un'esperienza locale, questa casa fa per voi! Un consiglio per chi arriva da Nagoya in treno: se usate la IC card, scendete a Nakatsugawa, passate la card e poi comprate il biglietto singolo da 200 yen per Sakashita. Le stazioni interne sono fuori dal circuito IC!

The space is located in one of the most picturesque spots in the town next to a bridge that connects to a park full of azaleas. Anju was incredibly responsive and helpful, and provided us not only with vegetarian bento for dinner when all other other options in town were closed, but also with Bento to go for lunch the next day so that we could hike the nakasendo trail without worry. Absolutely recommend the space, especially for larger groups, as it would easily fit 6-8 people.

Thanks for our stay Lily, the area was beautiful, the communication was excellent - proactive and fast, and we enjoyed spending time with three caretaker!

A traditional Japanese-style room features tatami mat flooring and shoji screens allowing natural light. A low table sits in the center, complemented by a black chimney vent. A futon is neatly arranged to one side, with a fan positioned nearby for comfort.

Koshiro-san‘s Familie und Hana-chan sind sehr herzliche Menschen, die einen gleich wie zu Hause fühlen lassen. Es war lustig, morgens gemeinsam eisbaden zu gehen und sehr angenehm, sich abends vor dem Kamin mit allen zu unterhalten. Das Haus im traditionellen japanischen Stil hat einen besonderen Charme und ist sehr sauber. Ōtaki liegt am Ontake See. Der Blick in die Natur und die reine Luft sorgen für eine ruhige Atmosphäre. Man kann von hier aus zu Wasserfällen wandern, Tagesreisen nach Magome oder an den Suwa-See unternehmen, oder mit Kambe Gassi gehen und sich mit den Dorfbewohnern unterhalten. Viele junge Leute in den Mittzwanzigern sind in den letzten Jahren nach Ōtaki gezogen und es besteht eine Gemeinschaft, die schön zu sehen ist. Dementsprechend wird es auch im Tsunehachi nie langweilig. Ich möchte allen für diese einmalige Reise danken und hoffe, bald wieder kommen zu können! ありがとうございました！またね！

Lovely tent for 3 in Japan's historic countryside

It was our first time doing glamping and we had an enjoyable experience! 1. We took about 35 minutes to brisk walk down from the camping ground to Nagiso station 2. There is no food around Either you pack your own food or order from Ties 3. It’s located conveniently on the Nakasendo trail and you can walk there if you wish We took a taxi from Tsumago-Juku carpark A which took about 10 minutes and cost ¥3500.
