Lush green rice terraces stretch across the landscape, framed by gentle hills in the background. A small stream meanders through the scene, with smooth stones visible along its banks. The vibrant greenery indicates a rich and fertile environment, typical of the region's agriculture.

Spacious Double room in Kerinci

Romes was very responsive from the start and pointed us in the right directions and effectively. Tried to work it out at all times - we are very satisfied. Especially in this region which is not touristy, it's great to know Romes, who knows everything. The room is great but no hot water in the bathroom outside. Well located in the center of the village but a little noisy in the early morning. We recommend it without hesitation!
A rustic wooden house is surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant flowers. A stone path leads to the entrance of the private room, while the garden offers a variety of plants, enhancing the tranquil environment. The overall setting reflects a harmonious connection with nature.

Cinnamon homestay Kerinci

The house is located on the ourskirt of the village Siulak, which is not as busy as staying in the centre. The house is clean, there is a basic bathroom in the yard and a fancy treehouse in the garden. Getting to either Mount Kerinci or jungle trekking/Tapan road takes 1-1.5 hours of driving. Rolis and his family were extremely welcoming and we experienced Indonesian family live during Ramadan. We hiked to Lake Kaco with Rolis and his friend/guide. In the evening we had dinner at his friend's home and afterwards visited his Mandarin farm. Rolis tells a lot of the local community, cinnemon and his projects together with volunteers. Having coffee in the tree house during tropic thunderstorms was one of the real relaxing moments during our journey through Sumatra. If you are interested in traditional Indonesian way of life and like to explore the wonderful Kerinci region, this is definitely a good place to stay.
A serene lake is framed by lush green hills under a clear blue sky. A person is swimming in the calm waters while another is standing on a wooden boat, creating a tranquil scene. The shoreline is partially visible, featuring verdant grass and a few canoes.

Beautiful Room + Mount Kerinci/ Jungle trekking

EdmondRating, 5 stars75 months ago
Rolis and his family are amazing host, taking great care of their guests such as in the morning you will wake up to freshly home cooked breakfast and aromatic coffee or tea. Rolis himself is extremely passionate of developing Kerinci’s into a tourist haven and has consistently been taking approaches to making it happen. He knows his hometown inside and out and will bring you to places only known to the locals. The Kerinci hiking tour is superb with the porter cum guide caring for all aspects of your need (food, tent, looking out for your safety...) Only thing you may want to take note is the distance to and fro Padang city, especially when taking the shared taxi. A supposing 6-7 hr ride may become 10 hr as the driver may pick up other passengers along the way, take breaks in between and traffic conditions. Don’t plan your trip too compact because this is Indonesia after all ;-)
