The Pearl of Whakatiwai

The Pearl of Whakatiwai. A completely restored Bed/kitchen/dining room with separate shower and toilet. This house was built in the 50's and so we have lovingly recreated the whole 50's vibe for your enjoyment. Right on the edge of the Firth of Thames you can lie in bed and see the views that go on forever. A great little kitchen with new oven and fridge, plus all the tools you need if you want a "foodie" get away. We do not have a TV, but great WiFi. Great fishing right on your doorstep.

Welcome to our private romantic getaway at Hereford Cottage. Located in Whakatiwai, north of Kaiaua with a backdrop of the Hunua ranges. We absolutely love living here and thought we would like to share one of our favourite places with others. We offer a beautiful one-bedroom cottage with a lovely outdoor wood fire tub and a romantic little area with a firepit, nestled in a natural setting with views of a stream, native bush and native birds. Enjoy a night or a couple of nights here with us.

Take it easy at this tranquil getaway set in the countryside but only minutes walk to the beach and cafe. Kawakawa Bay has a great boat ramp for people keen on fishing. We have two kayaks that you are welcome to use. Plus for the more adventurous, the FourForty mountain bike track is only minutes drive. There are also many great walks close by. Or....relax on the deck overlooking the beautiful countryside. The cabin has one bed (queen size) plus a foldout single stretcher bed.
