The Art House

Welcome to the Art House - a petite, quirky space up a steep driveway. Strategic location - 4 minute drive down to Petone Station where there is free parking, jump on a train for a 12 minute trip to Wellington. Jackson Street (6 minute drive) has more than than 60 restaurants, bars and cafés. From here it is a 15 - 20 minute drive to ferry terminals and CBD. There is no kitchen, just a microwave, kettle/jug and bar fridge. We live above the unit so there is noise from time to time.

The added discovery of a cool whiskey bar downstairs (not that you would have known!) was a treat. Would definitely recommend.

Petone Haven is a lovely house with a garden which gets sunshine until early evening. So close to the main street, it was very quiet. Close as well to the beach and shore. Lots of lovely restaurants, cafes, bars and shops nearby. The house was contemporary, clean, had extra towels and bedding: we had everything we needed. We will stay again as we loved it there!

The well-equipped kitchen, but you are surrounded by fabulous eateries, so you will only need to use the dual oven/microwave to heat up leftovers. Our son daughter-in-law and grandson loved the home from home experience. Great for location being near our daughter and shops in Newtown. We are keeping our fingers crossed that it will be available for our next NZ visit probably 2027. We will use it for ourselves as it was so much better than the place we stayed in. All the facilities we needed. Big enough for the family to get together and enjoy a family meal. The garden was a bonus. Just keep doing what you are doing.

This was a simply marvellous spot to stay! Fantastic location in a very secure location. I could easily walk to the grocery store, the waterfront, Te Papa museum and many other attractions. The apartment was spotless and equipped with everything I could imagine needing Llane was very responsive to questions and proactive with notices. I wish she owned a spot in every place on my bucket list!
