Our 3 bedroom house is located 120 km from Arusha. It is walking distance from Mto wa Mbu village and close to Lake Manyara national park, Tarangeri National Park, the Ngorongoro crater and Serengeti. There are lots of birds near the house. Perfect for families & friends wanting be together and relax and have a cultural village experience. Mobile router for wifi is available, but you need to buy additional voucher in the village for extensive data use.

Gongali House - Karatu Rewilded

Gongali House is situated on three acres of re-wilded land on a small escarpment overlooking the Mbulu Hills to the South, Ngorongoro Highlands to the West with the Rift Valley Escarpment off to the East. This is a great place to stay on your way to Ngorongoro Crater, Ndutu or Lake Eyasi. There are wonderful views from the upper terrace facing the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

We had a wonderful experience with Winnie! She was very flexible with our arrival time, as we got there at midnight. The accommodation matched the photos on her profile perfectly, and the room was clean and had a pleasant atmosphere. We had a wonderful stay here! Stevie welcomed us with a big smile, and the entire family was a joy to be around. The room itself was spacious, cozy, and very clean. We would have loved to stay longer and spend more time with the family! This was a perfect place to stay before heading to Ngorongoro, and it’s also near to Mto Wa Mbu. I think really this place is so special and the family is so precious we will miss them so much. We felt so welcome and it was like being a member of the family! Kaka and his brother have a professional safari business and are the best guides ever, they know so much about every animal and we were having the best time together, we also visited two tribes in the bushes, one hunting tribe and the Dotoga tribe that are doing jewelry from leftovers, it was fascinating to see them. The way to the Eco lodge is a little bit hard to find but he picked us up from karatu and even without a car it would be a great place for everybody that is searching to see what Africa will look like in real. The Ecofarm is self-sufficient with solar lights, collected rainwater, and wonderful self made beds a fireplace, tons of vegetables forgrat breakfast and supper you will love it. Wonderful children and we just had a great time together singing and dancing! May God bless this place!

We have not just had a good stay with Baraja, we've had the best experience one can ask for when traveling. The tent is in a plot of land overlooking the Rift Valley from above and is as beautiful and tranquil as can be. The night sky is unlike any other that I've ever seen and Baraja and his family have made us feel like we were friends from a long time. They arranged everything for us: transfer from JRO to the lodge and back, a safari in the Ngorongoro crater, a local tour in the valley and Mto Wa Mbu village... All for a fair price and tailored to our needs. We had a chef just for ourselves (we were the only guests). He cooked us three meals a day of delicious, authentic, local, home-made food. At night we would all welcome neighbors and gather around the fire place, chatting and drinking coffee. The tent was very clean and spacious. I can't say the same for the tree house but they let us choose between them. If you go there, you need to be aware where you are and the limitations that come with that. Water and electricity are limited and you need to be ready to take a cold shower. They will provide you with buckets of warm water if you want to shower the "African" way. There was no wifi available when we went but that was fine with us since this was an experience that required to be present. Moreover, Baraja and his family are still recovering from the toll Covid-19 imposed on them. They had to abandon the place and go to Arusha where there were more opportunities. We are only their second guests after abandoning the place for two years. They are slowly recovering and turning the place to an outstanding lodge. Overall, the experience that Baraja and his family provided exceed our expectations. If you want an authentic experience that will help the local community this is it. We went to a more luxurious lodge elsewhere after our stay with him but we always wished we were back there and could stay longer with him. We will come back 100%! And not just one more time...

Absolutely fantastic stay. The view from the rooms is breath taking. The team there led by Irene could not do enough for us. The family room is spacious with a double bed and 2 single beds. The food on offer at the restaurant was good too. Highly recommended. And for bird watchers, there are some cool species to see.

It was an amazing place to stay. The views were impeccable, the cabins were gorgeous and the food was so good. Staff was very friendly and we felt right at home. It was hard to find the location, but with the coordinates and the directions it was good to do. They knew how to cook gluten-free and we had the best food in days. We would love to stay here again, only regret was that we booked only one night.

From even before I booked, Cedric was super friendly and helpful. He made a lot of effort to help me find a tour option for Ngorogoro. His communication was great and he went above and beyond with helping me. I arrived about 9pm in the dark, and his amazing staff were looking out for me, to welcome and help me. My room was very good and had everything I needed- a very comfortable bed, and hot shower. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful- lush gardens and traditional thatched roofs. Also great for star gazing. Very calm and quiet. I'd love to return and highly recommend the lovely hotel. Thank you, Cedric.
