What a wonderful and special experience to stay in a mountaintop community in Tatev with a warm and gracious host like Samvel and Ahunik. They made us feel like part of their family and treated us royally. It was a magical time in a magical place far from the norm, can't recommend it enough. You may never want to leave. Это потрясающее место, невероятно гостеприимные хозяева, прекрасный дом! Агуник и Самвел самые замечательные люди из всех, кого мы встретили в нашей поезде по Армении. Обязательно приезжайте к ним!

The host: Anar does not lives here at the moment however his lovely mother Nayile xanim helps him in hosting it. Extremely respectful, and polite human being who made me feel a part of her own family. Although we could not speak the same language, thanks to the translating apps - we spoke on hours at end while enjoying great tea, and Ordubadi sweets (jams) that she made herself. The place of stay: Beautiful house with a spacious court yard and high ceilings. Located in a historical part of the town. It looks like it was recently renovated to great standards. I was shocked to realise that the house is built in 1870. It is fascinating to come across the similarities this house has with the houses in Sheki city of Azerbaijan - turns out that most architecture designed houses in both cities. The place was clean, and the bed was ultra comfortable. The Food: Highly recommended that you allow Nayile xanim to cook simple and rich Ordubadi food for you, and avoid the restaurants for a much immersive experience. Reasonable charges of 10-15azn ($6-9) will apply per meal. I highly recommend asking her to arrange a small size Ordubadi Qeyqanagh (eggs cooked in butter, and honey - soaked in sugar syrup). Will cost you a mere 20azn ($12), and it's totally worth it. The best part, the food is all organic, and seasonal!! Thank you for the amazing hospitality!
