Farmstay vacation rentals in Joe Gqabi District Municipality

What a beautiful, tranquil location. The house has everything one needs, and is lovely. We had a wonderful time of peace and quiet and thoroughly enjoyed the comfy beds, the birdsong, the verandah and so much more. You need your own DSTV card to watch any TV, but we did without. There is also no cellphone reception, but if you drive a bit back, up the mountain, the signal is perfect, hence not really an issue. Zanele left at 12:00, before our arrival, but we checked ourselves in without a hitch, thank you Jill!!

This remote farmhouse is about 20-25km out of Steynsburg, but the location is incredible once you get onto the farm. The view of the stars at night was perfect. The house is much larger than you think, but incredibly cozy with beautiful decor and amenities (great shower). The food was delicious and well worth adding, and we were given a warm welcome by Andrew and his wife even though we arrived late at night.

If you are looking to disconnect with real life and connect with nature then this is the place to go! We had a lovely stay at River Lodge at Karoo Ridge Conservancy. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and considerate with providing a camping cot and feeding chair for our baby and a net over the pool. Everything you need is there. We also did some of the hikes from the River Lodge and went for a great game drive with sundowners. Our dogs enjoyed the space as well. With no cell reception and WIFI at the lodge (only available at the reception shop), this is exactly what we need d for our breakaway. We will definitely visit again.

An ideal stop-over. Beautiful area, lovely walks. Clean and quiet, had everything we needed.

This was one of my most favourite stays at place ever. The farm is a pristine peaceful oasis. I drove for hours on a horrible N1 the minute I reached this paradise I decided to extend my stay booking another day because I did not want to miss out on the magic of this spot. Thank you so much to all on this farm, cold Winter nights is no problem here, heaters and beautiful mohair blankets and feather and down duvets. Don’t miss out on the traditional South African curry and rice served with a fresh salad and an incredible homemade chutney. And the fresh farm milk laden with cream was just a treat with my coffee and even slightly warmed with a drop of honey in it before going to bed was my special spoil. This spot was exactly what my soul needed. I am in love with this place and I will be back.

What a beautiful place. Our dog had the best time, playing with Bruce’s dogs and running around on the farm. Lovely breakfast too. Would definitely come back.
