These days, you won't find flappers but you will find birds of a feather and other wildlife including bald eagles, blue birds and otters. We even have a train! Walk the nature trails around the property or fish at nearby Toledo Bend. Your home base is outfitted in vintage western style. Lights out and the stars come out.

Sit back and relax in this calm, stylish space. Sip coffee on the covered porch, take in the beautiful sunrise on your lakefront view surrounded by Sabine National Forest. Keep an eye out for Bald Eagles. Explore nearby coves with our kayaks, jump in the lake on our swimming platform, fish on our piers, or lounge by the campfire. Located on Toledo Bend Lake, one of the premier bass fishing lakes in the country, and we have the best crappie fishing on the lake right below our marina steps away.

Much more than an overnight stay, this is an experience. Come to the country to get away from it all. Enjoy the great outdoors in this quaint little cabin that allows outdoor relaxing under a fully covered porch. Catch a fish, roast a s'more or pet a goat. Golf cart available for touring around. We have a farmhouse-themed guest apartment with its own private entrance and private deck with a view of a private lake through the trees in the piney woods of East Texas. The room features brand new appliances as well as a coffee bar. There is a very comfortable king-sized bed and a hide-a-bed. There is plenty of closet space. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and utensils. The laundry room is also accessible. This listing is attached to my house but we are quiet neighbors!

The Blue House on Cross Lake

This cottage was built circa 1926 on Cross Lake as the home for Lonnie Erwin who owned a catfish restaurant next to his home. Back in the day it was popular to drive up from Shreveport if they caught enough catfish to serve. The restaurant closed in the mid 1940s and it and the cottage fell into disrepair. We renovated the cottage and restaurant (also on Airbnb as The Red House on Cross Lake) and brought them up to date.
