Mentone's Coolest Cabin: In Town, Far Out

Our family of five enjoyed our time at The Nest. The layout with two master bedrooms on one level was ideal for my elderly parents. One thing to note is that access to the bunk room is through one of the master bedrooms, which was not ideal for our 17 year old. The bunk bed was comfortable and he slept well, however. The cabin is rustic and homey with modern updates and quirky decor. The floors are original and creaky, and the roof was loud during the storms, but that is to be expected and not a bad trade off for the character of this historic cabin. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the cabin, especially given the age. Due to the weather, we didn’t have a chance to walk to town, but loved the proximity to Mentone’s shops and restaurants. Our pups enjoyed the trail behind the cabin. We had a couple minor issues but Juli was very responsive. The host was super hospitable and made this a 5-star stay.

We had our annual college friend reunion here this year, and I think we’ll be coming back here every year. This place was perfect. It had enough space for everyone without being crammed. Everything worked great, easy to get to. This was the perfect place for us. Cannot recommend Laura and this place enough. We will 1000% be coming back!

Our group was there for fishing tournament. This Airbnb, by far, has been the most accommodating to fishermen with boats. Our group had five trucks with five boats and we have never found a place til now that we we have all been able to park at with the circle drive and carports. Planning to book here every year if available because that is a bid deal for us. We enjoyed the pool table as well. Very peaceful location and house was very clean. Beds were all comfy. Hosts was was friendly and quick to respond to any questions we asked. We have stayed at a few other Airbnbs in the area that are nice as well but this has become our new favorite. Thank you for allowing us to be your guests.

Lots of space for our family get together. Prime location to get to area attractions (Mentone, hiking, swimming spots). Well equipped kitchens in both cabins. Comfortable beds and plenty of towels. We particularly enjoyed the screened porches. There were kids games and puzzles for inside fun as well as paddle boards and floats for water fun.

This was our second year to stay at this house for a girls' trip. There were 3 of us and the house has plenty of space. The kitchen is well-equipped and everything is very neat and clean. The surroundings are peaceful and scenic. We enjoyed taking walks and just hanging out at the house. It's a perfect backdrop for quality friend time. Thank you so much!

This was our first Airbnb experience and it has definitely set the bar high! The homeowner was very responsive to our messages and super helpful with any question or request we had. This was for a weekend stay for our daughter’s wedding and the lakefront view from almost every room in the home was peaceful and kicked off each day with beauty and ease. You can easily get to Scottsboro, Guntersville, and Huntsville with a short and easy drive. Definitely keeping this stop in our rotation for that home away from home experience.
