This stunning property can host up to 8 adults and 6 kids or maximum 10 adults. All bedrooms are equipped with aircon. The indoor living-room is equipped with ceiling fan. IMPORTANT: To allow smaller party to book this stunning property, we charge per guest, so please fill up the correct number of guests. We don't accept any wedding or party. “I want light to come in from everywhere” were the words from the owner that led to Dharma Gumi property, a 700 sq meter steel box with concrete floors and glass walls. Located at an enviable address a stone’s throw-away from the bustling heart of Seminyak along a secluded private impasse, this spectacular five bedroom villa provides a fusion of the inevitable charm of Indonesian tradition with the urban chic of an intimately designed show-home. Most of the shared living areas are in the center, while the five bedrooms with en suite baths occupy the perimeter and face the gardens. Whilst the architecture is unashamedly contemporary, natural local materials are used which integrate the elements of Indonesian culture. The Asian antiques collected over several years by the owner amplify the home’s Eastern style. The living room’s bar features recycled hexagonal ironwood tiles and displays antique medicine bottles as decoration on the back wall. The breezy and open plan is an invitation to gathering friends and family. As an extension of the living-room, the step-down gathering area showcases design sofa and table while the niche behind the sofa holds antique Sulawesi carved-wood deities and mid-century Javanese plantation chairs offer additional seating. Across the gathering area is the dining room with seating for 24 people and living room with sectional sofa. The master suite is a modern addition of glass, concrete and steel at the back of the house, above the gathering area off the living room. 120 Indonesian rice boxes form an imaginative floor-to-ceiling headboard that enhances privacy. Glass sliding doors located at the edges of the rice-box wall enclose the room, while a glass door opposite the king-size bed opens onto a garden-view terrace. The other four bedrooms can accommodate various sleeping arrangements from six single beds (kids bedroom) to three king-sized beds. The grounds include a loggia and a Zen garden, a celebration of the simple beauty of Japan. The walkways are covered with bamboo, a motif that appears throughout the property. The living area opens to the beautifully landscaped and expansive garden (2,500 sqm). Located outside on the right side of the 18x4 meters pool, a separate tree house supported by woody plants serves as guest quarters. Beneath the structure is the garden-level bathroom, where a bath tub carved from a granite geode is the focal point. The staircase connects the bath to the lodging upstairs. Green is a motto. The biggest challenge was the discipline of reusing and recycling. Hence, all the materials from the site’s original structure were sorted. The house is very low-consumption, with a small carbon footprint in the way it was built and the way you use it. Nestled within the LED-illuminated recesses in the ceiling are fans that keep the family and their guest cool. Solar panels on the roof generate part of the home’s electricity. Please kindly note that the living-room is wide open (No air conditioned) and has 3 fans, so expect to get the same temperature than outside. As a guest, you will enjoy in-villa services including an on-call masseuse and four full-time service staff (from 8am to 4pm - on request after 4pm). Additional services (on request) from the villa are also available, culinary delights cooked up by chef (on request) and many other wills you are up to… You will be greeted by the Villa Manager, who will settle you in and give you the tips of the neighborhood and will be at your disposal during your stay. The villa has plenty of parking for a car and several motor bikes. A short stroll up the lane to the main road (Jl Braban) that runs behind 'Eats street' (Jalan Laksamana) is an easy option to hail a blue cab. A cheaper and easy option is to download the 'Grab taxi' app and order a taxi to the villa front door. Mr Sukra, the villa manager, will happily assist with organising any transportation requirements. We have a very reliable, bubbly and trustworthy nanny available upon request.
