We rented two houses for week for a family gathering. This was our second time staying at River Dunes. The houses and location were fantastic for our week. The amenities at River Dunes are wonderful, from the pool to the kayaks, to the bikes everything was great!

The house is even better than the pictures! The best AirB&B we have ever stayed in. You get more than what is pictured and that not normally the case. It was like walking into a brand new home. Would recommend over and over again.
A spacious living area is designed with light wood cabinetry and an open kitchen featuring premium appliances. A comfortable sofa is covered with a light blanket, complemented by a wooden coffee table. Natural light floods the room through large windows, enhancing the modern aesthetic.

Leeward Retreat in the heart of River Dunes

Leeward Retreat is an immaculately clean and beautifully decorated vacation home. The host responded quickly to any questions I had. Instructions for accessing the home were very clear. We felt at home from the moment we entered. We cooked two meals during our visit and found the kitchen to be well-equipped with everything one needs to cook any type of meal from simple to elaborate. The beds were very comfy. I loved lounging by the waterfront pool and chatting with the very friendly staff at the pool bar, as well as the convenience of the Cafe' and Provision store. I had dinner two of the three nights at the Harbor Club and the food was good. We would definitely return to this lovely home and the peaceful surroundings of River Dunes. Thanks to the owners for sharing their lovely home!

Loved the location. Peaceful and private, with a short walk to the lighthouse. The sunset view from the adjacent widows walk was spectacular with full view of the lighthouse and the harbor. No hassle check-in and easy close parking. Off-season so the pool was closed.

This is a lovely place! Kitchen was well stocked; bed was very comfortable; view from the screened in balcony was as described. Had issues with the TV (5 remotes) but finally figured it out. Overall, a great place to stay. Highly recommend it to a couple looking for a quiet, peaceful environment. Ocracoke is beautiful!!!!

I have lived in the ENC area for 8 years and this was my first time to the island. It was a great experience and our stay at the condo was what made it even better. The unit was clean and pristine and absolutely beautiful. It was updated with modern amenities and tastefully decorated . After spending the day exploring the island and appreciating its natural beauty and quaint shops, the “cherry on top” was coming back to the unit and relax.

We had a wonderful stay. The location was perfect. We did rent bikes, but could have walked to basically everything. I actually think that it is nicer than the pictures do it justice.

We enjoyed our stay. The location is in the center of town, but not on the busiest road. I highly recommend this place and would choose it again.

Matthew was awesome. The house was nice. Some accommodations in the house need a little upgrade like tv and internet connection. Also downstairs bedroom window needs to window blinds to provide privacy. The current one is missing slats and it opens to a main road.
