I definitely recommend this beautiful and cozy cottage with a thermal pool, surrounded by beautiful Icelandic nature. The owners were always very friendly and helpful 😊

Our stay at Sonja's was wonderful, the apartment itself was incredibly spacious, clean and had plenty of utensils for us to use if we wanted to cook at home rather than eat out. The location was perfect, around a 10 minute walk from the main shopping street in the city, about two minutes from the sea (with some incredible views!) and around 5 minutes from three large grocery stores. Parking was incredibly easy as described, lots of free on street parking in the area. Checking in/out was incredibly easy and our host was happy for us to check in early if we had arrived early. When we come back to Reykjavik I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for this property first to see if it's available!

This place was amazing. I would rank it a 6 out of 5. Gunnar was wonderful. He even managed to let us get in a little earlier which was welcome after a 6 hr flight and coming in at 6:30 am. This is the best Airbnb I have ever stayed at. It is in a 1903 house which insider is modern with everything you would want including an expresso machine. It is truly someones home and has that feeling. It is in a great location. My only regret is that we stayed only 2 nights. I retrospectivily wish we had booked for longer. I look forward to staying here again

This is a beautiful house with very nice surroundings and mountain views. The house had everything we needed for a pleasant and enjoyable stay. Being there was peaceful and the silence was amazing. The house is well insulated and was warm, despite the cold northerly wind we had, very nice floor heating and fire place. The house is an architectural marvel filled with very nice artwork.

What a great place. We really enjoyed our stay here. Lots of room for everyone and such a great location - not far out of the city but very peaceful and beautiful. The favourite of the Air Bnb's we booked for our Iceland trip!

Beautiful home to stay in if you're visiting Iceland! The house is in a really quiet location with stunning mountain views, but still super well connected to Reykjavik. Overall, the location is brilliant for exploring different parts of the country. The house itself feels so homey and the hot tub overlooking the mountains was definitely an extra highlight! 😄 Lonnie was super responsive and friendly in all her messages, so if you're looking for a home away from home in Iceland, I can definitely recommend this one! ✨️

Good place to stay near downtown.

I truly couldn’t have been happier about this stay. Wonderful hosts in a beautiful home – what more could you want? First thank you is to Benjamin for being a proactive and attentive host. Very reachable, very informative, very kind. This property is in an amazing location, close to transit and very walkable. The unit itself is gorgeous, with plenty of space and amazing views of the city. Some particular highlights: - multiple sets of keys! Not enough properties do this and it made it so easy to accommodate a large party - lovely kitchen and coffee/tea area. We were able to cooks multiple meals a day with no issues. - best master bedroom ever: one night I could even see the Northern Lights from bed Thank you again for a memorable stay! Hoping to come back someday soon!

Thank you so much for sharing your home! We had a fantastic stay. Everything was exactly as pictured. Home is on a bus route. Easy to get around. We are especially loved the wireless phone charger which was a lifesaver as we forgot about a European plug converter for the outlets. Would definitely stay again. Thank you!

Amazing Airbnb. Absolutely beautiful location, extremely comfortable and spacious, everything you could need and amazing and hospitable hosts. Very close to reykjavic and right where the golden circle starts. Perfect location. You also have the pleasure of horses and sheep on the farm that are so playful. Dont wait just book!

Great apartment. Lots of space and exactly as shown in the pictures. We loved the deck and views out of the kitchen! Laundry worked well and some laundry pods were provided. Plenty of space for everyone with comfortable beds and blackout curtains in bedrooms. Great location with an easy walk to lots of shops and restaurants and a grocery store nearby. Phil was very responsive before and during our trip as well. Highly recommend.

Kristin’s place was absolutely amazing! It was just what our family of four needed for the holidays. Amazing views from the house over looking the bay and the city lights at night. Super comfy beds, and heated bathroom floors!! Thank you so much Kristin for hosting us we will definitely be recommending your place to others whom plan to travel to Iceland.

Beautiful apartment, really bright and spacious. Location was good with parking outside and within walking distance of main centre. Ingunn was very accommodating and gave lots of local recommendations. We really enjoyed the weekend stay!

The apartment is in a great central location and has lots of space inside. There is also a dedicated parking spot which is very helpful

Absolutely amazing stay. Felt like a home away from home. Rakel and her family were incredibly helpful, and so friendly. Any questions we had were answered straight away, and we got some useful tips for the local area, as well as for Reykjavik in general. The apartment is bright and warm, and easily walkable to Downtown. There are also some fantastic local cafe’s, takeaways and shops within a few minutes walk, which was super helpful. I cannot recommend this apartment, and especially Rakel as a host, highly enough.

Hrafn's home was a great place to stay for our first visit to Iceland. Centrally located in Reykjavik, just minutes from the downtown area.

Kjartan's Borgarnes Villa was everything we hoped it would be. The views were amazing, the lake access was enjoyed and the deck time was spectacular!

We absolutely loved every second of our stay at Eugenias beautiful home. From the gorgeous exterior to the perfect layout to the sauna/hottub/cold plunge with the babbling stream running alongside. Magical! The setting was incredibly stunning and was truly one of our favorite views in all of Western Iceland. Close enough to Reykjavik while still feeling a world away. How lucky we felt to call it home each day we returned from exploring. Traveling as a family of five with three young children (9, 7, 6) we were also grateful for the lovely amenities (legos!) that made our time at home extra enjoyable for the kids. Enjoying a coffee each morning with the incredible views of the snow capped mountains was such a treat as was a night of Northern Lights! We've traveled to many Airbnbs across the world and Eugenia tops the list as the most helpful, kind, thoughtful host we've encountered. Being able to stay in her home felt so authentically Iceland and made for the most memorable trip!

This house is amazing… it stood out among 3 airbnbs we used this trip… comfortable, well stocked (foosball, great kitchen amenities, quality towels linens and beds) and in an exquisite location on a small cliff with great panoramic views of far-off snow capped mountains. Hosts were responsive when we tripped the circuit breaker and helped us quickly get power back. I have literally zero complaints and so many things i lived about this house!!! Many thanks to these gracious hosts!

This was a magical experience for my family. We felt like we were secluded in the most beautiful surroundings on the edge of the world. Audir and Omar are incredibly kind and welcoming hosts and their home is beautiful. Our kids enjoyed jumping on the trampoline and meeting the neighbors’ dog. We all felt so lucky to be able to stay in such a lovely, homey space.

What a place! Agusta’s house is amazing, super clean, the views are incredible, easy 30-40 min walk to the centre of Reykjavik along the water or super easy bus transport network (we did not have a car on this trip)… and didn’t need one. Well equipped kitchen. Excellent communication with Agusta leading up to and during our trip with some lovely recommendations. We had lots of snow during our visit over NYE and Agusta left out some snow bikes for us to use on the hill next to her home which our son loved. Such a lovely neighbourhood we would highly recommend staying here. We were a family of 7 adults and a 3 year old child. NYE from Agustas house was spectacular watching the fireworks from the hill over Reykjavik - once in a lifetime for sure. We would come back in a heartbeat.

Stayed here with 3 families. The scenery is beautiful and the house is clean and comfortable. Hot tub was awesome! Lots to do within an hour drive but need to plan for food and grocery shopping while you are out, there’s nothing within a several min drive. We did have some trouble initially with getting to the property, but plug in the coordinates on maps. Also some issue with getting through the outer gate but Heimaleiga was responsive, you have to call them initially to open the gate and then there is a mobile phone you can use for the rest of your stay. There is a travel brochure that they will send you through Air B N B with a ton of info about the place but I didn’t get mine until after we had arrived. I think this would have helped. We were there in mid August and the bedroom got very hot at night, we had to open the windows but there are no screens on the windows so a bunch of flies got in. Screens on at least some of the windows would be my biggest recommendation!
