Historically Gilleleje is an old fishing village and it was here that many Jews were transported to Sweden during World War II. Gilleleje Church was a waiting place for Jews until they could be transported. In 1943, 75 Jews were caught by the Gestapo on the church ceiling after a snitch had informed the Germans. Everywhere there are monuments of historical events. Every year there are various festivals in Gilleleje - "Hill" Festival, Harbour Festival, Jazz at the port and The Herring Day. A few minutes' walking distance to many good restaurants for every taste. There are electric kettle hobs so you can make yourself a cup of coffee, tea or chocolate after a lovely walk.

The house is not far from Liseleje with the beautiful beach, Melby and Hundested harbor, which allows you to experience good food, art and fishing for crabs. Note: Guests must bring linen and towels. Welcome to this amazing and cozy cottage located on undisturbed natural land and with direct access to private beach. The house is decorated in modern beach house style – ”simple living” with a great amount of charm and a personal touch! The House is located on a 3.600 square meters plot, where the 2.000 square meters are beach and sea. The beach is private (though the public has access). But since it is private and there is no big parking lot you'll mostly have the beach to yourself!

Along the coast, there are plenty of opportunities for fishing and surfing.
