Big Cabin

Ortnevik is two and half hours north of Bergen, on the south side of the Sognefjord. It's a picturesque Norwegian village sitting by the fjord at the foot of the Stølsheimen National Park. The local ferry can take you to see a bit more of the surrounding area, such as Vik, Voss and Flåm. Along side the mountain and forest trails, fishing and rowing activities found here. We expect guests to clean the cabin to the same standard they found it in or there is the option of cleaning for 500 NOK.

Please note, this place is in the mountains 620meter above sea level, you must be dressed for the Norwegian mountain, car must be able to drive the gravel road to cabin. We are now at a time where you must check the weather forecast prior to ordering.

Cabin in beautiful Måren overlooking the Sognefjord

My cabin can be found in Høyanger municipality, in the small village of Måren. To get to Måren you have to take a ferry (MS Lysefjord) from Nordeide, Ortnevik or Vik. There are no shops or kiosks in Måren, so you need to plan well with regard to food and other things you would need during your stay. In other words, you have to shop everything you need before traveling over with the ferry. The cabin is fully equipped and has everything you need for a nice stay.

The old house at Solnes Gard

Part of duplex on active farm. We are the third generation to run the farm after my husband's grandparents got the farm as a wedding gift. Here you get to stay in the original farmhouse from about 1950. We live in the other part of the residence ourselves. Cozy place, fully furnished and with everything you need for shorter or longer stays. We have 7 alpaca and many goats on the farm, you can join us if you want and we have the opportunity.

There is no noise apart from the hypnotic rumble of the waterfalls coming down the spectacular mountains. The sea is 50 meters away, and you have your own boat house with a 14 foot boat for fishing your own mouthwatering supper or just cruising around looking at the scenery.

Lovely cabin by the sea with amazing view!

Cabin perfect for a family, friends or a romantic getaway! 2,5 hour drive from Bergen. This cabin has all you need for a good time. Beatifull view over the sea, big porch to enjoy the sun. Shower, washingmachine, TV, Internett, Sound system, heatpump, fireplace, big dinnertable with chairs for 8 people. As a host i will do my outmost to make sure for a pleasant stay.

If you’re looking for peace, quiet, and breathtaking scenery, this cabin is everything you could hope for and more. Tucked away in the heart of nature, it felt like our own private slice of Norway. The views were unreal snow capped mountains, waterfalls and fjords. The cabin itself was cozy, spotless, and thoughtfully decorated with everything we needed, including a wood-burning stove and sauna with a view. Highly, highly recommend!

The cabin is one of 3 cabins of Eldar. Very cozy and very clean. We were only there for a short time and had a really nice time. For longer than 2 nights the cabin would be too small for 5 people, but we knew that and it was not an issue. The area is also great. Highly recommended. Eldar was also always immediately accessible and very nice!

The cabin is cosy and well equiped with almost everything you need. The host is very friendly and wants to help you enjoy your stay (always pleasure to find such host). He lives next to the cabin so he is available at any time in cases of emergency - that is a nice thing to have since Ortnevik is a small village with basicaly no public facilities (local shop is not even open every work day) and the closest "civilisation" is few hours drive. Hiking posibilities might be a bit limited during winter/ early spring months as there is still snow or rain so the paths are muddy and unmaintained. But it doesn't matter as it is nice to spend time in the cabin as well. All in all, it was a wonderful trip!
