Places to stay in Hoonah

STAY HERE! Robynn was an A+ host. She picked us up at the Gustavus airport and returned us when it was time to fly out. She gave us a great tour of her community along with recommendations of things to do and places to eat. She took us to the national park for our boat tour and came back to pick us up when we returned. The house was very homey and the kitchen was stocked with about any appliance or seasoning you would want to make a meal. There were quite a few groceries available as well. The wifi and television worked well. There were several bikes avaiable to use and we took advantage of that perk to get to a trailhead and to the restaurants. Lots of room and beds in this house if you have a large group. I would highly recommend!

This was our third year renting and every year we've been thrilled with the house. The location is perfect and the house has everything we need, highly recommend!

Roger met us personally for check-in and walk-through making us feel welcome and comfortable. Enjoyed our stay in Gustavus very much. Added nice touches were the included washer and dryer and the delicious homemade jam provided by Heleen. Appreciated the generosity and attentiveness of our hosts.

My 3 friends and I booked Angela’s place for a week of fishing. This is a great spot for family or friend groups, it’s spacious, clean and very comfortable. The location is about as central as it gets, close to the fishing charters, a bar, a restaurant, and local stores. If you’re visiting Hoonah I highly recommend!

absolutely perfect the setting was peaceful the people around town were very welcoming which says alot for the community also. we will 100% be staying here in the future and would recommend to anyone that is looking for a cozy cabin in the woods.

This is the only place we would consider staying when we return! Srisa and Todd are perfect hosts and we look forward to staying with them again in the future!

Joan’s place in Funter Bay surpassed our expectations in every way. Joan is an incredibly welcoming host and cannot be more warm, generous and knowledgeable about the area. She and her dog, Buddy, welcomed our float plane on arrival and immediately made us right at home. We spent our days exploring this pristine area by paddle boarding and kayak, taking in the abundant nature and sea life. We hiked through the forest to cannery cove and with Joan to see the old cedars, creek and thick rain forest. There is plenty of fishing from shore and kayak for salmon, halibut, rockfish and others. The vegetation is lush, flowers were in bloom everywhere and my daughter made huckleberry preserves with Joan. In the evenings Joan treated us to her exquisite cooking - a gift of love, local flavors and true hospitality. Our cabin was delightful, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed to be comfy. Joan and ‘Paradise Cove’ , as we named it, are an experience we will always treasure. Thanks

Quiet peaceful spot. Cheryl was friendly and punctual in assisting us with transportation to and from the airport and Glacier National Park.
