One of the Best Airbnb Experiences Ever! Our stay in Russell was absolutely unforgettable — this is hands down one of the best Airbnb's we have ever stayed at. The property itself is stunning, with beautifully maintained spaces and super comfortable beds and living areas. But what really sets this place apart are the incredible outdoor features. The backyard opens directly onto the beach, creating the most amazing setting. With kayaks and a dinghy available to use, plus a trampoline, swings, volleyball net, and even a slackline, there's something for everyone — you could easily spend your entire stay without ever leaving the property! And after a day of exploring the water, soaking in the outdoor spa while watching the sunset is pure magic. Honestly, the photos in the listing don’t even come close to showing how special this place is. It exceeded every expectation, and we would rebook it in a heartbeat. Already hoping we can come back soon!

The house was immaculate and beautifully presented in a tranquil bush setting. Sophie even made sure the Easter Bunny was able to get access which made for some fun egg hunting on our arrival. 🐣

Te whare is an awesome place to stay. It has plenty of space for the entire family and also a good sized front yard for the kids to play. It is walking distance from the local takeout, cafe and shop. You could also walk to the beach from the location. The hosts were awesome and very responsive, they went out of their way to cater for us and our stay. Will definitely return again and highly recommend te whare!

Always looking for somewhere a little unique, and Mabel's fits the bill with the historical character of the house evident as soon as one enters into a clean, comfortable living space just a few steps from the waters edge. Peaceful and quiet, and a short walk to the shops. Thank you Richard for the welcome upon arrival, and effort in making our stay relaxing and comfortable.

I would like to start off by saying how peaceful and beautiful and majestic this land is. The farmhouse is an amazing place to stay if you want some peace and quiet if you want to be able to see the Milky Way at night or wake up to cows and sheep in the morning. It was a last-minute Airbnb find for myself and my friend and Marissa was fabulous! She came over and made sure the house was good for us and when we got there, she also left us four fresh eggs, some freshly made hot cross buns, and some milk for the coffee. I felt like home!! The kitchen is unbelievable. The beds were so comfortable I didn’t wanna wake up. The sunrises over the mountains and the mist on the fields was beautiful. We got the most beautiful pictures of the sunrise and also some amazing pictures of the stars at night. I would recommend anybody in that area. The farmhouse is the place to go! Marissa and her husband showed us this beautiful scenic route to drive which we did and it was fabulous! The Farmhouse rocks

We had a lovely stay – the house was perfect for our group, with plenty of space and a great layout. It’s well-equipped, beautifully located, and the views are stunning. Despite the wild weather, it was a relaxing place to unwind. We were lucky with sunshine on our last day and made the most of the lawn, trampoline, and pool. The house isn’t a show home and could use a refresh in places, but it’s comfortable, homely, and ideal for groups. Communication was easy and everything was as described. Would absolutely stay again – I bet it's even better in sunny weather!

We loved every minute of our stay at Nuku Cabin. Diane was so welcoming and made us feel totally at home. I loved all of the thoughtful detail she has gone to make our dog feel at home also, with supplying a doggy bowl, blanket and bed. The house was absolutely pristine and had everything we could possibly want. My family will definitely be back again.

We had an amazing stay! Rodd was incredibly professional and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The house is absolutely stunning and looks exactly like the pictures. The amenities provided truly elevated the experience as we had everything we could possibly need at our fingertips. My family and I had so much fun as there's so much to do, and all of the amenities are in amazing condition. Thank you Rodd for being so accomodating! Highly recommend and would stay here again!

We came up from Auckland for a wedding & the property was local to everything The property was great and both Rob & his wife were lovely. We barely seen them so we decided to go say hello down at their Phat House bar in haruru. We had a couple of nephews come and visit while we were up aswell . Catching up with whanau and coming back to relax there was lovely .

This is very nice place to stay. A quiet area with some good walks. My situation was a little different as I wasn't on holiday and wanted somewhere quiet and reasonably close to the hospital where I was visiting my husband each day. The property is off the road and there are auto gates. As I was on my own this made me feel very safe - on top of which Genevieve was in the main house a lot of the day. It was comfortable and cosy (given my stay was during the winter) and Genevieve and her husband went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. Thoroughly recommend and if I ever need to be in Whangarei for any length of time I hope I can use this accommodation again.

Super stay at the bridge house, excellent location and surroundings. Pool, jetty and grounds were great so little need to venture further. Historic, large and well set up house with great spaces for relaxing and entertaining, including a well equipt spacious kitchen. Kevin was a fantastic host, friendly and accomodating always. Super privacy whilst there but Kevin wasn't far away if we needed anything. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would love to go back again in the future. Mangonui is a beautiful part of NZ, with so much to see and do in close proximity and the Bridge House offers private, peaceful, spacious accomodation, couldn't think of a better place to stay if in the area or a better host. Thanks Kevin. Our first airbnb experience and couldn't have been happier with our choice.

This batch was cute and tidy. There is a big deck to relax and to take in the beautiful view of Cooper’s beach. It’s in a great location and 2 minute drive to the local shops.

We had an awesome time camping, the place was as described and worth the price. Justin and Ngawai are very friendly and helpful hosts. We hope to come back one day 🙂

A lovely place to stay. Great outlook and clear instructions made it easy to find. The place was very clean and well organised with everything you would need for a short stay.

Darren was a great host! His place in Whangarei gives a great taste of the local nature, where you can see nice views and hear the birds in the trees. Short drive to town, but nicely on the outskirts. Highly recommend this air BnB, and Darren as your host.

A modular bach with lots of separate rooms, older but has everything you need. Right across the road from the beach on a quiet street at Hihi. Easy care, extra hot in the sun, lots of comfort. Excellent communication from a great host.

We had a lovely relaxing time at the Wild Forest Warehouse, a funky, comfy, welcoming space with a delectable bedroom area enclosed by tented curtains and fairy lights, multiple seating nooks, a dreamy indoor hammock, and too many other thoughtful touches to name. With so much beauty to savour, we weren’t bothered by the lack of a kitchen sink or any of the property’s other quirks. Absolutely a delight!

We loved staying here. The view over the inlet is stunning and the perfect spot for watching the sunset. The cabin(s) - one for sleeping and one for the bathroom were cosy and really clean. The bed was very comfortable. It is secluded and away from any shops (which we loved) so you definitely need a car to get around. It has a good bbq and a microwave but no stove or oven (accurate from the description) so if you're wanting to cook for yourselves, it would pay to bear that in mind. Would definitely recommend!
