The interior of the room is very unique and fun. The guest house is located in the suburbs of Kyoto. This is a private rental inn. After enjoying sightseeing in Kyoto during the day, enjoy nature and the starry sky at the forest inn in the suburbs at night. About 1 hour from Kyoto city by car. By bus, it is about 90 minutes from Kyoto station to the guest house by WEST JAPAN JR BUS. You can get here by bus from Kyoto station. No need to transfer. You can take a suitcase on the bus. Take the bus from Kyoto Station and get off at the end of the line at Shuzan Station, then walk 3 minutes to the guest house. On the way from Kyoto, you can enjoy the view of old Japanese houses and forests from the bus window. Miyama Thatched Roof Village and Hiyoshi Spring Hot Spring are about 30 minutes by car from the guest house. Nearby you can taste and buy sake at Haneda Brewery, handmade bakeries, long-established Japanese beef restaurants, historic Japanese confectionery shops, nostalgic Showa-era restaurants, and quaint shrines such as Jojo Temple and Jigenji Temple. It is also convenient to Kamo Shrine, which is said to be a hidden power spot, and Koyasan Temple, which is famous for its bird and animal paintings.

Haruya Guesthouse

Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts.
