We inherited this house and have been protecting it while gradually restoring the neglected garden over the past 10 years. There is no TV in Shirotsubaki. Instead, we value making tea, looking at the garden, reading books, and talking with family and friends. More than 80 types of plants and trees grow in the garden, and the camellias that were once grown by the tea ceremony master are once again in bloom. On the natural stone terrace, you can enjoy reading or tea time without worrying about people watching. The tea room still retains the careful work of Kyoto craftsmen, and time passes quietly and peacefully. During your stay, please choose your favorite from our authentic tea bowls and enjoy the experience of making matcha tea yourself. A tea whisk and matcha are provided. We also provide a library where you can experience Japanese culture and art, and a small study, "Reading & Writing Nook", bathed in soft light through the shoji screens. Hirosaki Park, the venue for the cherry blossom festival, the main street where the Nebuta floats pass, yakiniku restaurants and izakaya bars that are popular with guests at other listings are all within a 5-minute walk.
