We had two stays recently at xmas ‘24 and again in new year ‘25, we had also stayed here before a few years back. It is a safe and peaceful location, the flat itself is clean and comfortable and very spacious. The communication from Joy is extremely good and responsive which we appreciated. The location is accessible with lots of shopping near by, a home from home for us. Many thanks Joy & Tonderai, we look forward to returning when in PMB.

Romantic Rondawel on the forest's edge

Visiting from the UK, Angela the host gave clear directions & gate entry info. On arrival we were greeted with a thatch roof rondawel in the most serene & private surroundings. Felt so tranquil & peaceful looking out over her beautiful garden. The rondawel has a lovely rustic feel & was spotless with the little touches of tea, coffee, sugar & milk plus some delicious biscuits & a dram of Sherry! There’s a fire pit to enjoy looking up at the vast African sky & a swimming pool to enjoy by day. Vervet monkeys were busy foraging & little duikers came to visit. We stayed here 4 times during our visit we enjoyed it so much. Angela gave us tips on places to visit & eat & was so friendly during our stays. We will definitely be back!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Gillian’s place! From the moment we arrived on Thursday evening until we left on Monday morning, everything was perfect. The home was beautifully prepared, spotless, and incredibly welcoming — exactly what our family of five needed for our time In Pietermaritzburg. Gillian was an exceptional host: thoughtful, responsive, and genuinely caring, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our stay. Her attention to detail and the little extra touches made us feel right at home. The space was comfortable, well-equipped, and ideally located, making it easy for us to explore and unwind. Thank you, Gillian, for making our family trip so memorable — we would love to return in the future and would highly recommend your place to anyone looking for a fantastic stay!

Large old family home with lots of character. Everything was perfect, clean and comfortable. We were a large group of parents visiting PMB for the Maritzburg College rugby festival. The house was 10min away in a safe neighbourhood. The house is comfortable to accommodate large groups. Housekeeping was an extra bonus. We would definitely visit again.

We loved our stay. Beautiful views, nice and private but not too far from shops and activities. The kids enjoyed the swimming pool and most of all the fire pit :) Thanks Mike, we’ll be back.

We really enjoyed our stay and managed to relax and unwind. Paula was very helpful and friendly, as was Cindy who looked after the house during our stay. We really felt as if we were staying in a home which we all loved. The Midlands is the midlands and there is always so much to do. This was a great place for us to be based for the weekend. So much so we ended up spending most of our time at the house as we were so comfy. We would definitely recomend Paula and her place and would most certainly book here again.

The Watering Hole is a beautiful and idyllic property in a magnificent location. The hosts are friendly, accommodating and left personal messages and treats for us to enjoy. We enjoyed our stay immensely and will book there again if needed.

Forest House

Felt like we were in the treetops in the jungle! Absolutely stunning setting. We were thrilled to see Knysna Turacos multiple times. It was a very spacious area and it was no problem having multiple other tenants who lived on the property. The kitchen was extremely well outfitted with all you could want. Although it was chilly- we never needed the gas heaters as the space was upstairs and so naturally warmer. Justin was great to chat with and flexible with us hosting friends for a meal. Darrell was very friendly as a host and showed us around. Many thanks!
