Emma went out of her way to make us feel welcome, offering us lifts and leaving us a lovely breakfast despite having to leave for an early morning flight. The place is lovely and comfortable

Had such a lovely time here. Rooms were as shown in the pictures. Amazing heating, shower and great cooking facilities. Beautiful location. Lawrence was always very helpful with any questions we had and responded very quickly. No complaints at all! Highly recommend staying if you are visiting the area. The only improvement would be to make the property easier to find on check in. 10/10 would love to stay here again

The accommodation is located on a campsite, which creates a very cozy atmosphere. There are plenty of walking opportunities with little to no road crossings. The accommodation was clean and fully equipped for 4 to 5 people. The beds are comfortable, as are the sofas and other furnishings. Communication with the host was excellent, and we also had a contact person from the campsite available. Highly recommended!

Fantastic place to stay, very cosy and comfortable. Comfy beds, modern bathroom, well decked out kitchen, Smart TV with all the apps, loads of storage in the bedrooms, ideal for our family of 4 staying for a week. Great location, on a quiet stretch of road, tucked away and private, but within easy driving distance of amenities. Great base for things to do in the area... Chesham itself is the last stop on the Metropolitan line which is ideal, only 8 mins drive from the cottage and cheap to park for the day. Its also a great spot to get to Harry Potter Warner Studios and Windsor which is why we chose it. Ellen was a fab host, lots of info sent through beforehand and responded quickly. We didn't need to bother her or her family whilst there, but we knew the offer was there if we needed it.

Brilliant location, homely feel and a host that couldn’t have provided for us. From a complimentary breakfast selection of pasty’s, eggs and cereals to a written booklet of places to eat / drink / party in the evening only in a less then 10 minute taxi drive away. Beautiful surrounding scenery with friendly local pubs… Can’t recommend enough.

Lovely little place, very comfy, well appointed and has everything you will need for a cosy and comfy stay. Ashwell is a sweet village with a lovely high street, nice walks and good pubs close by for food and drinks. The cottage is well equipped and has all the basics, the beds are comfy, and the shower is good, we had a peaceful and restful visit, just what we were looking for - everything went smoothly. Nicki was great to deal with. Recommended!

We had to take our beloved dog to the Queen Mother Hospital,( part of the Royal Veterinary College,) for chemotherapy, consequently we needed somewhere nearby to stay. We had a terrible journey down, driving in the most horrendous weather arriving ay 10pm. We were greeted by Melanie, Charli's Mum, who could not have been more welcoming, even nipping home to fetch my husband a beer after the strrss of the journey. The property was perfect for our needs...set in a beautifu private location, surrounded by horses and greenery. The property was very clean, and furnished to a very high standard, along with a well - fitted kitchen , with every appliance you could require to cook a meal. The property was nice and private, and we had permission to walk the dog in the beautiful garden. I would highly recommend the property. We are very grateful to Charli and Melanie for their kindness, welcome and hospitality.

We had a great stay at the barn! the surrounding scenery was beautiful with lovely long walks and warm and friendly pubs and shops. The barn itself was better than in the photos, as soon as you open that barn door you are blown away with the pure beauty and quirky features of the building, the space was clean and very well kept, and the beds are very comfortable Thankyou very much we will be back

The Byre is absolutely stunning in quiet and peaceful surroundings. Vanessa is very helpful and friendly and left us with lots of lovely "goodies" which were lovely and much appreciated. We had a lovely few days and will definitely return again in the not distant future.

had everything we needed. jo and husband are really nice and helpful. don't know if it's a part of "normal setup", but there was a huge fan. this proved to be a welcome relief as temps was very high. the access path was illuminated, for those late nights. was so satisfying watching all the red kytes soring above.

My wife and I are return visitors, and for good reason. Lizzie was her customary, friendly self. and found time to chat in person (rare) and catch us up on her news since our last visit. She was also generous in offering, unasked, to stock the fridge with milk, eggs, bread, and butter, which we gratefully consumed after our arrival. She knows the area and people who live in an around Edelsborough well, and is happy to offer suggestions when asked. There is no place or host in my many years of using Airbnb that I would rather return to.

A fabulous place to stay, with super friendly and supportive hosts who were on hand to help when needed. Wonderful place with loads of space to relax with the family. It felt the perfect mix of luxury and homeliness. very private with lots of parking and plenty of spaces to relax outside in the sunshine. Whilst it is near the airport, that very quickly became unimportant and did not affect our stay in the slightest. I couldn't recommend Dinah and Mike more highly as hosts. They made The Stables feel like a home from home. We were made to feel incredibly welcomed. We would certainly book again if we were to return to the area.

We stayed here for 8 weeks while our house was being renovated. The pictures don’t do justice to how beautiful the surroundings and views are! The space is really well laid out and lovely inside. We were very comfortable and had everything we needed. Veronica was very speedy to respond to any issues we had. It was a lovely slice of heaven during a stressful time for our family! Especially for our 2 children - the added touches given to them were amazing. We will definitely be back one day!

This is a beautiful place, and Isabel was a great host. Communication was fast and the information provided was incredibly helpful. The house was comfortable and full of little luxuries. The kitchen is well-equipped. We enjoyed our stay, taking long walks in the woods and checking out the local village pubs. A much needed respite!

I had a lovely stay at Victoria’s place. It’s private, peaceful, and exactly what I needed for a relaxing getaway. The space was clean, well-kept, and had a welcoming feel. Victoria was a great host—friendly, responsive, and respectful of privacy. I’d definitely recommend staying here if you’re looking for a quiet and comfortable retreat.

Had a lovely weekend stay. Dogs enjoyed the biscuits, very helpful with extra towels for cleaning their feet. Loved the apartment. Reminded me of my loft at parents house. Little treats. The Black Barn is a wonderful place to stay. It is so peaceful. Val and Philip are excellent hosts and they have created a wonderful place to stay. The fields at the back are ideal for dog owners. The Barn is only a few minutes from the centre of Berkhamstead and yet is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Black Barn is very clean with lots of storage space. We really enjoyed our stay!

We really enjoyed our family Christmas get together at the barn. The house was big enough to accommodate all the family while still feeling cozy. The kitchen was perfect for cooking a big Christmas dinner for us all and the rooms where comfortable and full of character. Emily made sure we had clear instructions before arriving so there was no fuss. What more could you want; a log fire, wooden beams, and good cheer. What a lovely holiday.

Lovely home, felt very comfortable there- we had 4 children between 4 adults, and it felt like a lived in house- therefore we were not panicked about the children just being children!! The pool was a lovely temperature and our children enjoyed it thoroughly. House nice and warm, kitchen and lounge area which overlooks the swimming pool were a real hub of the home- a very nice space. All in all a great find for when we need to be in Hertfordshire! We would stay again.
