I live in the middle of the country which is very very convenient if your really want to explore the whole Costa Rica, 18 min from the Airport and you can take a bus each 20-10 min to go to the center of my city or if you like to walk you can walk and it will mean 1 hour walking or 8km . I do that sometimes, but Uber is my best option $4 and 10 min. Mall Oxigeno is very close just in case you want to experiment the real Costa Rican life (no just the beach areas).
