Sarah’s place is in a beautiful setting and is perfect for a break with family. The sunrises were especially stunning and we enjoyed getting cosy with the wood fire in the cooler evenings. The whole property is extremely spacious and watching the kangaroos provided lots of entertainment. Sarah was very helpful with suggested activities and places to eat - thank you so much.

The cottages at Tara B & B are fantastic for a city getaway. We stayed for two nights and the antipasto platter and breakfast provisions were very generous and delicious. The cottage was very well equipped with everything you need. The weather was good so we ate breakfast outside in the sun both mornings. On the grounds are alpacas and pigs and I enjoyed saying hello. Guildford is very close to a bunch of really interesting goldfields towns which we really enjoyed. The cottages are in one building divided in two with a common wall, so you do know there are guests next door but it didn’t bother us. All in all highly recommended.

Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a quiet weekend get away! It’s basic but awesome, you get sheep coming right up to the house, a winery on the door step and a dam metres away! Loved our stay

What a memorable trip to the area this was with Beckworth Retreat as the absolute perfect place to stay. Top choice! Read on if you would like to know more. This is a cyclist writing who loves country Victoria and its roads less travelled. Beckworth Retreat is such a heavenly place to arrive after a long day in the saddle. Returning to Beckworth Retreat after shorter trips over the next days or simply hanging out there was absolutely enjoyable. Easy living in the country with top hosts and very nice, comfortable facilities for their guests. Superb!

Staying at Fiona's was such a beautiful experience. Nestled into a hill with views across beautiful fields and bush environs of Yandoit. From the moment of opening the door the interior spaces were very welcoming. The building has been lovingly restored, adapted and furnished. My partner and I greatly appreciated feeling comfortable to spend time relaxing, cooking and sitting in the garden, and going for walks along the country roads. When we felt like being more social there was the option to drive to nearby towns like Castlemaine and Daylesford. It feels rare to find such a place.

Cosy stay with lots of character! Perfect country stay for two people to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The surroundings are stunning. We saw the highlander cows, and donkeys which was so cute! And we enjoyed the fire pit under the beautiful Milky Way.

What a wonderful place. We stayed with the family and had such a great time. The setting is just spectacular and there was room for everyone. David was a great host, being very responsive and welcoming. It was great staying at the property but also driving to different towns to check them out, coming back home to put on a toasty woodfire and settle in for the night. We loved our stay here!

The tiny house is beautiful. It is so peaceful on the property, so if you’re looking for a quiet spot to rest and relax for a weekend, I can highly recommend Ann’s place. Ann is also super friendly and responsive, even meeting us at the gate when we arrived to show us around. As long as you’re prepared to climb a ladder to get into bed, then I can’t think of a better place to unwind and get away from the city.

Enjoyed every minute of our stay Beautiful view Peaceful and lots of privacy We were lucky enough to have both warm and cold weather So we got to enjoy the fireplace and pizza oven and fire pit The animals were fun even when the lamas were spitting on us!!! We saw eagles kangaroos and even deer and foxes so was exciting The house was very well equipped and we had everything we needed to use. Even home made treats which was lovely We will definitely stay here again Carolyn

9 of us stayed here over a rainy few days for Easter. The house was perfect for relaxing by the fire heater, board games, reading and relaxing. A well-appointed kitchen and a large bbq with a huge timber for large family dining. Bedrooms and beds very comfortable. We loved grocery shopping, cafes and strolling around Creswick just 9 mins drive and also visiting amazing Daylesford about 20 mins away. There’s a great roadside potato stall on the Midland Hwy in Newlyn Nth - you won’t miss it if coming from Ballarat or Creswick.

Everything about this place was absolutely perfect! Beautiful nestled away in nature, animals on your door step and a lot of privacy. The home itself was gorgeous, we really loved the decor and small details. Liz was a super responsive host and checked in with us to see if we needed anything. We really loved our stay, thank you so much!

An amazing very well appointed cottage with every item you could need. For a small two person studio sized cottage it offered enough space both inside and out to chill. Amazing is the best way to describe it. Peaceful, comfortable and fresh & clean. I could only recommend this place highly, for a couple looking for a quiet retreat and peaceful couple of nights it was ideal. Heather was responsive and the whole process was easy. Well done Heather on a great set up!

Our stay at the Vicarage was absolute perfection. From the moment we arrived—lights on, music playing—we felt instantly relaxed. The home is a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and charm and Dean is an incredibly thoughtful host. The fires were set, the hot tub was ready, and a generous selection of provisions welcomed us. There were no tedious rules, just an open invitation to unwind and enjoy. The gardens were gorgeous too with plenty of quiet spots to enjoy a book or a cuppa, and Sammy the cat made us feel right at home. Every detail was focused on comfort and ease. We (reluctantly!) left feeling refreshed and are already dreaming of coming back. Thanks Dean for an unforgettable stay, you have truly perfected the art of hosting. We had such a wonderful stay! Clair and her entire family were incredibly generous and welcoming, truly some of the kindest hosts I’ve ever met. The property offers stunning views and a peaceful, quiet atmosphere that made it so easy to unwind. Clair even arranged a tour of the farm for us, which was such a thoughtful and memorable experience. We also got to pick fresh fruits and vegetables straight from the garden! Their cute dog made the stay even more special. From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. Highly recommend this little slice of paradise!

We had a wonderful stay at this charming Charter Farm house! The property was beautifully decorated, blending classic old-world charm with modern amenities. It was spacious, comfortable, and perfect for our group. The kids loved the trampoline, while the men had a great time on the tennis court. We had a great time at Cathy’s property, definitely a place I would come back and stay at again. So peaceful & amazing views. We made use of the awesome fire pit out in the garden. We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It’s very cosy and clean. There’s everything you need in the kitchen. There were even games and colouring books for the kids. There are farms around you so it’s perfect if you want to escape the hustle of the city. Just a quick drive to all the sights in the area. Kylie is a very friendly and helpful host, always responded quickly. We would definitely come back.

Just glorious. What a beautiful place to stay. Judy and Neil were lovely hosts and the Great Hall had so many lovely touches, from the expansive range of LPs and CDs, to the styling of the space, to the fresh flowers and Neil's wonderful sourdough. There's obviously so much care and thought put into the space for others to enjoy. The space is gorgeous with the morning light, and wonderful to relax outside in the afternoon. I had every intention of exploring the local area but chose to stay in, reading and enjoying the sounds of the kookaburras and magpies. I feel like I had escaped from the world for a week, not just a weekend. I very much recommend listening to the CDs of Judy and Neil's own music too! I would love to come back again in the colder months to enjoy the fireplace. Even if it's a rainy weekend - to be nestled up in this space, switching off from the world, would be such a treat.
