Selecting a Bathroom Privacy Setting

When booking Rooms, it should be clear to guests and accurate if the bathroom will be shared, dedicated, or private and attached. Regardless of bathroom privacy selected, it should have an interior lock or latch for guests.

How bathroom privacy is defined

Private and attached: The bathroom is for exclusive use by the guest. It is accessed directly via the bedroom (e.g., an en-suite bathroom).

Shared: The bathroom may be shared with other occupants of the house, for example, the Host or other guests.

Dedicated: The bathroom is for exclusive use by the guest, but it is accessed via a shared space, like a hallway or living room.

Guests will have the option to filter for private and attached bathrooms when searching for a Room.

Bathroom interior lock/latch guidance

For any bathrooms that guests can access, we recommend that any lock or latch allows a bathroom to be locked or latched from inside.

Note: It may take up to 24 hours for your bathroom privacy setting to show on your listing page, or for private attached bathrooms to reflect in the search filter.
