Mohammad's camp is a friendly place in a peaceful location where you are made to feel right at home and very well looked after. It's popular with Jordanians as well as tourists which is always a good sign! Mohammad created an experience for us which included spending time with a Bedouin family, visiting his own family in the village, a day shepherding goats in the mountains and a four-day hike to Petra, wild camping in stunning locations along the way. Mohammad was on hand throughout to make sure we had everything we needed, and the whole thing was very well organised. His brother Suleiman who guided us was a brilliant guide and we left with a feeling of having had a very special opportunity to learn first-hand about the way of life in the area, as well as loads of fun. Mohammad recommended a different route to Petra rather than the usual Jordan Trail and it was incredibly beautiful. Would absolutely recommend. The camp is located just outside Dana village, overlooking a beautiful valley. The rooms are simple but clean. The people were very friendly and they serve good food. They can also arrange hikes for you.
