We loved our stay in this gorgeous cottage! Being able to sit outside on the verandah overlooking the most beautiful view, the sunrise and the sounds of nature including a stream, birds and frogs. We even ventured for a splash in the stream - chilly but lovely! It’s remote enough if you are looking for peace and solitude but also not far (about 20-30 mins) from a lot of the great Midlands meander attractions and restaurants.

The house was perfect for our holiday. The fenced garden was so nice for our toddler and dog so we didn't have to worry about the water. A real highlight was swimming in the river. The big veranda was lovely for lazy afternoons and braaing. The beds are very comfortable and lovely linen and towels. The kitchen has everything you need. Best if all you feel as if you are in the middle of nowhere but there are shops and restaurants close by.

Amazing stay! Lora was incredibly welcoming and made sure everything was perfect. The place was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had all the amenities we needed. The location was ideal. The cottage itself was spotless, with top-notch facilities in excellent condition. Every little detail was thoughtfully taken care of, ensuring we had a comfortable and relaxing stay. Visiting from the UK, Angela the host gave clear directions & gate entry info. On arrival we were greeted with a thatch roof rondawel in the most serene & private surroundings. Felt so tranquil & peaceful looking out over her beautiful garden. The rondawel has a lovely rustic feel & was spotless with the little touches of tea, coffee, sugar & milk plus some delicious biscuits & a dram of Sherry! There’s a fire pit to enjoy looking up at the vast African sky & a swimming pool to enjoy by day. Vervet monkeys were busy foraging & little duikers came to visit. We stayed here 4 times during our visit we enjoyed it so much. Angela gave us tips on places to visit & eat & was so friendly during our stays. We will definitely be back!

We spent 3 days with our family at the Stables cottage and had a wonderful stay. The location is peaceful and the scenery is stunning. Kate also organised dinner on request and we thoroughly enjoyed it esp the vegetarian meal. Our 3 yr old was overjoyed to see horses, goats and dogs on the property. The staff ( Anna, Ruthie and Mbongeni) were super nice and made sure we had a comfortable stay.

We booked Penny's place at the last minute and she was more than willing to assist us. The space is lovely, we enjoyed meals in the open plan kitchen with a view over the valley. The kitchen is well equipped for self catering. The shower was piping hot and clean which was superb on a rainy cold weekend. Full dstv bouquet allowed us to enjoy the UCI XCO races. All in all, an incredibly pleasant weekend. Thanks Penny.

We had a lovely time at this cosy cottage. Shane gave clear check-in instructions and they were very accommodating. The garden is truly amazing and makes for a peaceful stay. The kitchen is well equipped and enhanced our holiday experience. The well stocked linen closet made it feel like home while the washing machine washed and dried our clothes. We would definitely recommend this little bit of peace for your next trip.

Perfect area for our trip. Just down the road from the meander. 2 malls just along the road to get shopping and the house is not far from the road to Underberg. The room had everything we needed to hand. Directions were a series of photos, ideal for me, l wasnt trying to look for numbers just the gate that was a big win. The room was cleaned and serviced each day. The very hot shower was great as we had a day and a half awful weather. Plenty of extra, soft blankets for yhe bed helped hub out. Village at Yard 41 was our breakfast place. will go back if we are in the area.
