Built in 1939, Dongchonjae It's not a fancy hanok. Seoul City and the government (Korea Tourism Organization) have recognized it as a traditional hanok. Dongchonjae has opened its home by a retired couple and has been operating since October 2020. Guests use 4 rooms, living room (Daecheongmaru), kitchen, 2 bathrooms (inside: shower available, outside: small but showerable), Numaru, and yard. The host lives in Sarangchae and provides breakfast and other services. Located in the 2nd view of Bukchon, this hanok yard is filled with old trees from Changdeokgung Palace. It is located in a quiet place where you can hear the chirping of birds. There is no inconvenience at all to stay. Bukchon Hanok Village, Insa-dong, Ikseon-dong, and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art are all within a 10-minute walk.
