Vacation rentals with breakfast in Gulf of Papagayo

Exactly as described. Great house and location for a low-key beach vacation. The house is located “just over the hill” from Playa Grande, and is on the much quieter Playa Ventanas where we’d often be the only people on the beach for hundreds of yards, even with the holiday week. Through the gate and down a short path and you are on the beach. House itself is clean and comfortable. Everything you need - well stocked kitchen, beach chairs, boogie boards and beach towels. A beach tent for shade was also available when we asked. Very different than the luxury rentals popping up all over PG, but great if you are looking for a laid back stay. Jorge was responsive with questions. Felt completely safe. Would return again!

The place was spacious, clean and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay, it was just a short walk away from the beach. The host was fantastic, and we had great communication throughout my stay. They were very friendly and accommodating. Overall, we had a great experience at this Airbnb and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and relaxing vacation close to the beach.

This was one of the most incredible Airbnbs I’ve ever stayed in. The design is stunning, the layout is seamless, and the views are truly unforgettable. Every evening, we watched the sunset melt into the ocean through massive glass windows — it felt like living inside a postcard. The kitchen and dining area were perfect for group meals, and the bedrooms were beautifully designed, with incredibly comfortable beds and strong, quiet AC. The pool was the crown jewel: an infinity edge overlooking the coastline, surrounded by nature and ocean breeze. Every detail was thoughtful and elevated the experience. Peaceful, luxurious, and perfectly located — I can’t wait to come back.

I had truly wonderful time staying with Nuria and Pedro relaxing and studying a bit. The house is clean and very spacious. My room was small, a little hot and dark and there was a lot of dust whilst I stayed there but I didn‘t mind that a lot. There are many common areas to spend time at. The breakfast was delicious, there was coffee all day (as it‘s Pedro‘s No. 1 beverage) and they gave me some of their neighbours mangoes (delicious!). They took me to a supermarket one day and even to the airport when I left! Furthermore, I had very interesting conversations with both of them. Oh, and though I‘m a little scared of dogs, I fell in love with their doggo patros :)

Wow! Absolutely stunning home, in a great location, we didn’t want to leave. Four bedrooms upstairs and a bunk room downstairs, linens and beds felt brand new, great kitchen, indoor and outdoor dining, amazing pool and patio. Location was perfect! We rented surf boards/boogie boards from across the street, path to the beach is super cute, beach is not busy or touristy (just surfers and locals), great restaurants nearby. I recommend grocery shopping before arriving or getting them ordered by concierge. Only a little convenient shop nearby. We loved our stay and hope to return! Thank you.

My friends and I had an unforgettable experience staying at Casa Sal y Sol! It was our first time in Costa Rica, and we were looking for a place that was spacious, safe, and conveniently close to the beach—and this place truly had it all. The house is about 30 minutes outside of Tamarindo, and really was the perfect balance of a laid-back surfer town but also had charming restaurants and local spots. The house is very close to the beach, making it incredibly easy to run back if we forgot anything, and the beach itself was peaceful and uncrowded. Each room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. My guests and I slept great! One of the highlights of our stay was the housekeeper who came daily to tidy up and make the beds. She was incredibly friendly and also helped those of us wanting to practice our Spanish. We all agreed that this Airbnb was absolutely worth every penny. We’ll definitely be returning and recomend it to any family or friend group looking to enjoy Costa Rica!

We stayed here with three families with kids. Hacienda Pinilla itself felt safe, accessible, friendly, and easy to use as a home base for beach exploration. The house was incredibly beautiful and well set-up for a large group. Lovely home base to return to after a day of adventure.

The place was in the perfect location. Right by all the restaurants and bars and super close to the beach. My buddies from surf school ended up staying at the hotel right across the street so it couldn't have been more perfect for me. I had originally only plannes to stay two weeks and decided to stay an extra. William was a great host. Very response with the booking and while I was in town. He gave me great tips and recommendations for my trip and I also ended up doing private yoga classes through one of his friends.

We had a perfect time here. The Hosts are super friendly, caring and communicative. There was at any time someone present for anykind of questions. Lieke organised a wonderful boattrip for us. Staff was very friendly and attentive too. Kids loved the pool and the beach. The mexican bungalow was more spacious than it appeared on the pictures. Food in the evening was just delicious (seafood soup, seafood pasta, sushi). We highly recommend staying here, especially for families!

Finca las Garzas is a beautiful place. Alejandro, María, Tina, and Bella were very friendly. All of the animals and dogs—Tootsie, Milo, Lulu, Lola, Doll, Astro, Tormenta, Pelucho, Igor and hundreds of others—all seemed very happy. We never met the host. The breakfast was amazing. Raw milk is illegal in New York, so to have access to it every day was a dream. I am sensitive to pasteurized dairy, but the raw milk and cheese did not upset my stomach at all. We loved walking the property. We picked the best mangos we’ve ever had off of the huge trees and walked around eating them. We walked through the forest and saw dozens of howler monkeys up in the trees. It was incredible. HOWEVER, the first night Igor the donkey was very loud and the roosters started at 3 am. The following 3 nights the roosters started at 3 am and 2 am! We tried ear plugs and white noise. It didn’t help. So we had to leave 3 days early for health reasons. Also not walkable to beach. Anyway, we are very grateful.

Great place, totally worth it, amazing pool view, very close to incredible beaches. Totally recommended.

Este apartamento tiene todas las comodidades para pasar unas vacaciones increíbles en familia en Costa Rica. Posada San Rafael está en el corazón de Las Catalinas pero en una casa lo suficientemente privada con atención de 5+ estrellas. Además ofrece diversidad de actividades, restaurantes, piscinas y playas privadas a solo unos pasos del apartamento. Lo que me encantó fue el increíble espacio con detalles funcionales en cada rincón y el diseño colonial de esta hermosa casa realmente te enamora. Para broche de oro nos encantó la excelente hospitalidad de Flor y su familia , que nos consintieron con desayunos todos los días, nos dejaron el apartamento limpio y listo para volver después de días preciosos en la playa!! 100% regresaré y lo recomiendo a ojos cerrados! Vale la pena !

Everything was great during our stay. The location is perfect, near the beach, supermarket and restaurants. The room has everything you will probably need, also the shared kitchen is well equiped. The hosts are very friendly and the breakfast was definitely the best part of our stay.

This place was an absolute gem! The caretakers were lovely and took great pride in their work. They were welcoming and helpful! We absolutely enjoyed our stay here. Very clean, comfortable, and conveniently located a short distance to the beach.

Kyna and Elmer (...and Mogli) are great hosts. They made me feel very comfortable when I was there solo after my wife and daughter went back to the US a few days before I did. And the villas are very quiet and peaceful....very relaxing. Breakfast every morning was healthy and delicious. And whether you are a surfer or just a beach lover, the ocean (Playa Avellana) is truly a very short walk away from the villas. I have been traveling in Costa Rica for many years, and this place stands out as one of the best. I would stay (and probably will) there again for sure!

We had the best time staying at Calypso. The host Nico was friendly and personable, and we felt right at home. It was the perfect location being in walking distance to everything in the area that you would want to see. It was clean and a beautifully unique property. We look forward to returning at some point in the future.

George es un anfitrión increíble, desde el minuto uno me hizo sentir como en casa, ademas tuvimos la oportunidad de tener una plática muy amena, es una persona muy inteligente y con muchos conocimientos, sin duda regresaría, me llevo muchas recomendaciones locales, así como literarias y una muy buena experiencia.

Dalia was so nice and gave us a warm welcome. We felt like family! There was another woman there that was also extremely nice. The breakfast was perfect! Great pitstop 20 minutes away from the airport. We ordered an uber to the airport and it was nice and easy. If we need a spot near the airport in the future we will definitely be back here! Wir haben in einem Container mit Blick in die Natur geschlafen, es war toll gemeinsam mit dem Dschungel aufzuwachen. Das Frühstück war lecker und auch das von der Gastgeberin gekochte Essen am Abend war gut, wenn auch etwas teurer.
