Villa Margaridi - Chauffeur`s Logde

Five minutes from the city center, just above the Castle of Guimarães, it rises from the 10th century, the House of Margaride. This property belonged to the Countess Mumadona Dias and is referred to in the medieval documentation as "Villa Margaridi", in a letter that dates from the year 1021. “Chauffeur's Lodge is as the name implies, the former accommodation of the chauffeur of the House of Margaride. Ramada Charming Country Home - Felgueiras

Originally a military lookout tower, later in the XVI century it grew to incorporate a cellar (both used for the renovation) and a small chapel.
