Family-friendly vacation rentals in Great Rift Valley

Everything was perfect and very nice. We loved the house. Spacious, friendly people. Security 24 hrs security are there. Everything was perfect just one thing not sure about it. They let me pay 200,000 electricity. My family lives in Dar and they said 200,000 is enough for 2 months. In the description says electricity fees not exceeding 80,000 maybe for coupled of days. Just be careful regarding this thing or go and pay by your self better.

This is our second stay at Nunu’s place, and we couldn’t be more satisfied. The house is excellent, and the security is outstanding. We highly recommend it to others! One of the standout features of this property is the reliable water supply—both cold and hot—along with a functional power generator that activates within half a minute of any power interruptions.

We brought a large group to stay at Prisca's place for two weeks. Prisca was very communicative and extremely accommodating. She purchased additional mattresses, sheets, and towels for our group. She purchased a water dispenser for us when we requested one. There were some problems in the house during our stay (which is common in Tanzania), but her local staff were quick to help us. The house is massive and can accommodate a lot of people and has A/Cs and water heaters throughout. The kitchen is big but not particularly well stocked; we needed to buy a bunch of our own utensils in order to properly cook for so many people. The location is pretty far north of Dar, but it was worth it for the great price and Prisca's great service.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Windsor House, and it was an incredible experience. One of the standout features is the expansive greenery surrounding the property; it's truly a picturesque setting that feels like a private oasis. The vast lawn is perfect for hosting gatherings or enjoying a relaxing day outdoors. The pool area was fantastic as well, providing a great spot for a refreshing swim and sunbathing. It added a delightful touch to our stay, making it easy to unwind and have fun. Our host was exceptionally kind and attentive, ensuring that we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I also want to give a special shoutout to Venus, the care taker who was an amazing help throughout our time there. His assistance made our experience even more convenient.He’s truly one of a kind . Overall, I highly recommend Windsor House to anyone looking for a beautiful place to relax and create lasting memories.

I have always stayed at Maureen's place on all my visits to Nairobi and never been disappointed. The hosts are responsive and flexible with their guests. This is the only place that I look at when booking a stay in Nairobi.

We had an incredible one-night stay at this unique treehouse in Nairobi! The setting was peaceful and surrounded by nature, making it feel like a hidden oasis in the city. The space was beautifully designed - cozy, clean, and full of charm. The hosts were warm and welcoming, ensuring everything was perfect. Waking up to the sounds of birds and enjoying the view from the balcony was a highlight. Highly recommend for a magical and refreshing getaway.

This place is definitely worth your time looking at. I thought I’d miss being right at the beach, but honestly, we looked forward to coming ‘home’ to Joseph and David and the calm, quiet, cool of Ruby House. We spent time reading, playing games, reconnecting and resting, as well as swimming and bobbing in the creek - listening and watching birds. It is so peaceful - chatting with fishermen, and just taking in the surroundings. We went for a few day trips- the Gede ruins are well worth an hour of your time, sand dunes north of malindi were great. And we LOVED Garoda Beach - much less seaweed and less busy. I could not speak more highly of the staff - they were present but not, flexible, understanding and really wanted to help make your time enjoyable. The rooms were so comfortable. I think it may be a little hot in the very hot month, but it gets a lovely breeze and there is always the one room to escape into for an afternoon nap if necessary - but we didn’t need to do this. Thanks!

The location was perfect for me and the unit is in a very secure community. Overall, my stay was good. The place wasn't dirty, but it wasn't super clean either. The main sliding glass door also didn't lock so the unit was never fully secured, but I was able to lock my belongings in the bedroom.

Lovely place truly enjoyed our stay. chef Sammy is a gem had the most splendid breakfasts.

We had a great time at Olomaiana house! Fabulous sundowner spot, breathtaking horseback rides, fun games and room to run around for the kids, and a well equipped kitchen for prepping big family meals. Mary, Peter, and the team were very welcoming and helpful. We'd definitely recommend it and look forward to coming back!

11 of us came to stay at the villa for my friend’s hen party. It absolutely met all our expectations and more. The pool was a perfect size, dining table was fab and the rooms great. Lucy, Grace, Jane and all the staff were phenomenal and could not have done more for us. The food they cooked us was beautiful and they really helped us out by sorting extra food shopping (snacks etc) for us. The beach and all restaurants/bars are a 5 minute walk away and as a group of females we felt safe walking along the beach and back to the villa after an evening out. 100% recommend.

We were a family of four with two children ages 9 and 7 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in watamu. My children didn’t want to leave the pool and it was so convenient that it was right outside the veranda. The location is perfect. Right on the beach but so close to walking to lots of restaurants, shopping, etc. you can walk down the beach to hire a boat for a ride to snorkel and dolphin watch, you can walk out to the islands at low tide. We hired Joffit, a local chef at Federica’s recommendation , to prepare breakfast and lunches and do shopping. Would highly recommend to anyone else. It made the stay very relaxing. The flat was perfect for our family. Extremely clean, spacious and we appreciated the minimalist decor. We didn’t notice any loud noise like other reviewers mentioned. We could hear the waves at night. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to enjoy Watamu.

We loved Lucita house and we will be back ( many times), simply gorgeous. Everything was clean and tidy. Loved the house decors and the bed linen and towels were high quality. Thank you for having us!

We had a wonderful 4 nights stay with family of 5. The owner responded quickly, send us very detailed information of all you need to know and arranged pick up at Mombasa airport. The staff is very friendly, helpful and at the same time gives you privacy. Reuben the chef provided us splendid meals, we especially enjoyed all the fresh seafood!Recommended is to do shopping before arrival because bigger supermarkets are 40 minutes drive away. Fruits, vegetables, water, fish, soda’s are easy to get in the village but for more luxurious groceries you have to go to the bigger supermarkets. You can book the pick up from the airport with a shopping stop in Nyali. Neen Tree is a lovely family house with marvellous view and direct access to the ocean. A friendly monkey family lives on the property and are fun to watch. Besides the pool we loved going snorkelling on the rif using the equipment from the house. For transport we used Tsuma with a comfortable 7 seater which we used for a Kilifi trip.

What a stunning view. With two young kids the location connected to the Great Rift Valley Lodge is brilliant - the kids spent all day in the pool and loved the kids club. The place had lots of space and was very comfortable. Lucille was very easy to communicate with - a great host.

Leonard is an outstanding host who provided us with early check-in. He is highly responsive, and his team is incredibly friendly. The place was impeccably clean and beautifully maintained, with all the amenities we needed. This house is the perfect getaway for the whole family. We will absolutely be returning!

Good location (10min walk to the beach) and very peaceful. Kiko (the host) is very friendly and responds quickly to all queries. We had a plate of pasta and fruits waiting for us, which made our first night there super easy. Eric (chef) and the rest of the staff were also very attentive and provided a great service. And if you prefer to cook, the kitchen is well equipped. I'd recommend!
