It is part of an 18th century restored barn called The Malting House, where malt was stored and used to brew ale for the monks of Cartmel Priory.

The Edwardian town of Grange is a 5 minute drive with plenty of amenities and a lovely promenade walk. The southern end of Lake Windermere is a 12 minute drive.
