Acadia Adventures

CollinRating, 5 stars8 months ago
The home was as described and had what we needed. We like to make all our meals, and the home had all necessary cooking items, although few spices, condiments, etc. Plenty of Kcups were provided. No dishwasher, but cleaning supplies and strainer were provided. The view of Mt. Dessert was beautiful! We traveled specifically to spend time in Acadia, and the location was perfect for that! The home is on a second story above a garage, connected to the main home with another resident. He was friendly and mostly kept to himself. The clothes washer and dryer (detergent provided) were on the main floor. There were several locked rooms, leaving just the bedroom, bathroom, and main living area. It was ample room for 2. Alison was exceptionally responsive and accommodating! We would certainly recommend and would book again!

Cozy Quietside Retreat

EricRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Very nice little apartment in a quiet and woodsy neighborhood in Southwest Harbor, a very short drive from plenty of restaurants and so forth, and also convenient for exploring the rest of MDI. The apartment was clean, well-equipped, and comfortable, and Caroline was responsive and very friendly, as were the rest of her family. Would definitely stay there again.

Cadillac Mountain View Suite

RyanRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This place is in the heart of Bar Harbor. We parked our rental car and only used it once to get groceries. We were walking distance to our whale watch and ghost tours. We were also walking distance to the shore path. The place is super clean and surprisingly quiet for the area. There’s a great restaurant that just opened up across the street “Table Salt” that’s also worth giving a try. Would stay again if we revisit Bar Harbor.

The Perfect Victorian (downtown Bar Harbor)

MichelleRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had a wonderful stay at Ruddy's place. Ruddy and the caretaker were both very responsive and helpful. The home was comfortable, neighborhood quiet, and the location was perfect. Many restaurants, some shopping, and parks were a short walk away. Bar Harbor is absolutely beautiful, and we had a wonderful week there hiking, exploring, and enjoying the gorgeous views.

Lovely two bedroom detached apartment.

BarryRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Dear Julie - We had a fantastic time in Maine, the people were lovely and your place was absolutely perfect! All new, so clean, private bedrooms, a hot shower after a day of hiking at Acadia, et cetera, et cetera. You have every single detail covered from the kitchen to the bathroom. I was in need of nothing and really had to think to provide some constructive feedback, and here it is. A vegetable steamer basket would be a great addition. Haha, that's it. Sooooo glad we stayed in Ellsworth instead of Bar harbor. Don't get me wrong, Bar Harbor is beautiful right by the ocean, but it's a bit too touristy for me, and the inflated restaurant prices are hard to endure. A 25 minute drive from Ellsworth put us at the loop road entrance to Acadia, so simple. We spent Saturday night at The Black Moon Public House whooping it up with locals to live music by the band T.O.M.B. Perfect week, perfect ending. If you read this and need a place to stay, book it. You'll be glad you did.

Acadia sunrise deck apartment

AnnetteRating, 5 stars8 months ago
Great place for visiting Acadia. I usually try to book inside National Parks or as close as I can. Her place was 18 minutes to the visitor center and the drive was a nice drive. The breakfast food she left was awesome. Her kitchen was stacked with everything needed to cook dinner. 4 deer and 8 wild turkeys crossed over her front yard. It was a peaceful place to come back to after the crowds in the park.

Plovers Cottage, Waterfront

EllieRating, 5 stars7 months ago
This is a beautiful hidden little gem. The cottage is right on the water facing west, perfect to catch the sunsets every night. The place is comfortable and homey. The local store (Dunbar’s) had everything we needed and more, including a deli and hot food. We enjoyed some time in Acadia, which is about an hour drive, but trust me it was worth the drive to stay at Plover’s Cottage. I would definitely stay again. Mark, the host, was available for questions and even brought more firewood to make sure we got to enjoy the fireplace.

Maine Country Home Young

KatiRating, 5 stars7 months ago
The house has everything you need but can be a bit tight navigating around furniture. Location was perfect for us as we explored the quiet part of Acadia and drove north for lobster rolls at River View Takeout and a seafood casserole from Chapmans (highly recommend both!). The latter we heated up at the house - oven worked great! We just missed the (seasonal) ferry service to Bar Harbor, but in the end that was fine. The hour drive to the main part of Acadia goes quickly as Maine drivers drive fast! I would stay again if I ever make it back to Acadia. Quiet, few people (granted, we were there off season, but the park still had a lot of folks!), essential items provided or can easily be purchased at the shop down the road.

Cozy *Newly Renovated* 3BR Home

TimRating, 5 stars7 months ago
We spent four days in the Park. Great location relative to the Park. The last ferry had stopped for the season, but that was OK as we used the car to see the entire park. The house was extremely well stocked: cooking utensils, appliances, dish soap, laundry detergent, EXCELLENT wash/dryer, plenty of necessities that we usually travel with “just in case” ie. toilet paper, etc., firepit. The windows/doors looked to be brand new, as did the LR furniture-and it was extremely comfortable!! We had a small issue with the TV, but Michaela was over immediately the next morning to fix it. She even offered to talk us through cooking a lobster 🦞 😆👏. The beds were very comfortable and the towels were top notch! The furnace warmed the house very quickly in the morning ! Our stay was great. The leaf season is very peaceful in Winter Harbor. Michaela was wonderful.

A waterfront home on the rugged Maine coast.

JulieRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
If you’re looking for a remote landing spot as you explore Maine, this will be perfect for you. We enjoyed the peaceful ambiance, especially the hot tub, after day tripping to other places. Highly recommend you 1) visit the Hannaford grocery store in Ellsworth before you get to the house, 2) research the surrounding area for any meals out, and 3) for sure go to Acadia National Park. Watch out for deer if you return to the house after dusk.

Lighthouse & Harbor View, an Ultimate ME Vacation

CharlesRating, 5 stars8 months ago
What a beautiful house in a lovely setting! The historic details with modern kitchen and baths made this a perfect home base for exploring this lesser known part of the Maine coast. Proximity to Schoodic Peninsula (part of Acadia National Park) allowed for great hiking and incredible views. Some great restaurants are close by. We particularly liked the Tree House in Winter Harbor and the “Pickled Wrinkle” in Birch Harbor. The house is clean, comfortable and well equipped. We especially loved the backyard fire pit. Having dogs in tow, we REALLY appreciated the fenced yard. Views of the sunset from the front yard were just stunning. We will definitely be back!

The Owls Nest

JordanRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The place in Brooklin was delightful. We arrived at the edge of the season so got to enjoy the surrounding area mostly to ourselves. Our hosts were kind and welcoming and not overly attentive. They got a kayak out of storage and took it to the dock for me which gave me a lovely morning on the nearby cove. They also gave us a later checkout which was really helpful to not have to jump up and get things cleaned and packed. My mom and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Quiet, Cozy Condo in Dwntwn Bar Harbor (Unit 1)

AmritaRating, 5 stars7 months ago
We had a comfortable stay at Matsa’s in Bar Harbor. It’s walkable to all restaurants and amenities, and so close to the main attractions of Acadia National Park. The place itself was great for our group. We had two toddlers and they were also comfortable. The beds were comfy. Kitchen is well stocked, we had breakfast at the townhome all three days and we felt like after our regular grocery we had everything else to enjoy our meal— great collection of dishes and silverware, basic spices, and oil. If you enjoy coffee, get some fresh one, they have a machine to brew. The host is responsive and easy to communicate. If we come back to Bar Harbor, we’d love to stay again at Matsa’s.

Marina side Stern condo

ShannonRating, 5 stars9 months ago
The photos don't do this place justice. It was spacious and squeaky clean. Beautiful views of the water. For a busy marina it was pretty quiet. During the day there would be people just outside the unit talking but nothing disruptive. Great price for a beautiful place. Only about a 25min drive to Bar Harbor. We would definitely stay here again.
