Great, peaceful location. Walking distance to restaurants, reserve (park) with playground, and a beautiful beach. Matt & his family were great hosts. We enjoyed the afternoon chats in the sunny front yard..... and the Heinekens!

This is really beachfront with a short walk down the stairs. This place made me feel right at home with a real beach bach feel. I wish we could have stayed longer. Was also great to be able to bring our dog who is a member of our family along.

Thank you for an amazing stay! The view was to die for and the home was spacious, clean and absolutely beautiful exactly what we love in a home. Sam was an excellent host! Highly recommend this home to anyone, it was sooo hard to leave but we will definitely be back!!

We enjoyed our stay. Beth greeted us with their very friendly dog, Ella. It's a nice treat, as we miss our guys back in Canada. We loved the open concept and modern design of the space. It was very comfortable and quiet. It was really close to the beach for a stroll. We loved the gardens too. Close to town. We enjoyed Saturday’s Farmers Market. We highly recommend Cook’s Cove Walkway for those intermediate hikers. Thank you for the delicious coffee, treats, and helpful notes. 🥰

Jaye and Brent helped us out when we got stuck on the beach above and beyond. Also gave us fresh fish the first night awesome. We loved them and the lodge so much we stayed an extra night. Jeremy was a great host! Very welcoming and helpful with local recommendations! the location is ideal for beach goers and surfers. Jeremy was helpful to talk to about which places to surf considering the conditions! The bed was super comfy and the kitchen amenities were ideal, high quality and well thought out. I would recommend.

Wainui beach is a fantastic location with surfer like atmosphere. The house was elevated from the sand but 10 stairs away. House has very high ceilings making it seem huge! The living areas face the beach. We had 3 couples staying and it was perfect.

I had a beautiful 5 night stay at Kelly’s and Nigel’s Cottage. Very nicely done on their beautiful land! It was nice driving home to my cottage every afternoon after a long few days spending at the beach for my daughter’s sports events. Cottage is so well looked after and I had everything I needed. Loved all of it! Nigel and Kelly are definitely super hosts! Very approachable and kind.

This was one of the best holidays we’ve had. As a family it was heaven for our child, and our wee family. Hayley and her family were amazing. The place was excellent. The pool was incredible. We had brilliant weather and swam at wainui beach - just a short walk or quick drive away - every day. Hayley had lots of recommendations for things to do, places to visit, and food etc. The place is perfectly laid out with everything we could want. Shops just down the road. Highly recommended venue for families and kids.

This house is located in a beautiful area, a very quick walk across the road to a pristine beach. The house has everything we needed for a Sisters weekend getaway! The only time I contacted the host with a small question I received an answer within 5 minutes, this home is very private and also very quiet (except for neighbors dog, who like any dog would bark at us 😄) I would recommend this home to anyone wanting a fantastic getaway.

We had a wonderful 2 week stay. Incredible location, great bed and comfortable clean environment. Everything was spotless. Missed having a small microwave for warming items, but otherwise very well stocked with everything you need. The hosts couldn’t have been nicer. We loved our stay and would absolutely book again!

Jeni’s studio is part of the downstairs of her own house. The house has a front lawn with a nice table for dining outdoors. The beach is just there in front beyond the state road. You can see, hear and smell the sea from the garden! I love that the house is mid-century and the studio preserves some of that charm and vibe. However Jeni has added many contemporary details to make the place comfortable and cozy like her two new double beds with very nice linens and plenty of pillows. There is an abundance of bathroom towels, beach towels and blankets to cuddle up in. Jeni is a super host, very hospitable and replied within minutes to any enquiry we had.

What a find! This place is just gorgeous, welcoming and homely. My brother wants to buy it! We only had one night but we will definitely return for a longer stay. It was my first time back to Tolaga Bay in many years and sadly the closure of the local fish n chip shop caught us by surprise. Other than that i can't fault the house or the beautiful area it's in. Thanks so much for letting us stay Luke.

Great place for a couple of nights. Comfy bed. Right next to wharf, the beach, and riverbank walkway. Walked to Farmers Market on Saturday morning. As mentioned in the comments, there seems to be a bit of angst about AirBnB and the parking situation - a resident we met when we arrived told us: "AirBnB guests can't park onsite." (we didn't park onsite, nor did we even ask anyone).

Had a great stay though the weather was not on our side. The house is lovely. Beds were very comfortable and fab having the pool option on the days that the wind made the beach wild and rough. The location was amazing as well and walks on beach which is across the road were fantastic.

We spend a perfect holiday there. Great place to cook, stay inside and outside, close to the beach. Very comfortable rooms and great kitchen, relaxing living room and spacious veranda. Comfortable bathroom to get the showers after the beach. Perfect wifi.Couldn’t be better.
