Vacation rentals with a kayak in Gilmer County

This home was everything we were looking for!!! Right on the lake for fishing and kayaking! Fire pit, check, and everything you could need in the honeymoon! We didn’t get great weather but our boys were never bored with the outdoor fun! Ellen even went out of her way to bring us life-vests for the boys. Great home, fabulous location, and perfect host!

My family and I stayed at Gilbert’s cabin for the Christmas Holidays and really enjoyed it. The cabin sits on a large piece of land, so even though there are neighbors it feels very private. It was very quiet and the fire pit outside was the perfect place to stargaze. The cabin is only 10-15 minutes to downtown Blue Ridge and there are also plenty of hikes nearby as well. We would love to come back in the summertime and enjoy the lake!

First off, Wendy is a spectacular human! She was the sweetest! I messaged her to see if we could check in a little early, not only could we check in early she let us know it was ready before the early check-in! She checked on us to see if we needed anything done around the house, leaves or wanted the Christmas decor down! It was just outstanding and we loved the Christmas decor! The boat dock was so peaceful and was my workout everyday!!! We will be back for sure!! It’s like we are family now!

This was a great place for a Spring Break escape. Highly recommended.

I took my teenage daughter and her friend for a 'girls' weekend' at the lake. Karen's place was absolutely perfect and she was an exceptional host. We did have a small issue with the AC, which Karen corrected immediately. She was very responsive, very friendly, and very accommodating. (Plus this AirBnb comes with a DOG!! Sam is the sweetest goodest boy). We would definitely return to Karen's place and highly recommend it.

I can't say enough about Lisa's home! It had everything listed and more. The thoughtfulness in the little details made this the best experience we have had with an Airbnb. This home is beautiful and the amenities at the lake were perfect. Our family had a wonderful week and hope to do it again in the future.

Simply my #1 Airbnb spot. looking forward to returning when the weather is better. The area has so much to offer, from mountain views, waterfalls, Lakes, very friendly people and great restaurants. The in house movie theater, pool table, dart board and a ton of board games made the rainy days enjoyable. our hosts were very proactive with clear instructions and availability. Only negative thing I can say is I wish I had booked more days.

Here’s a suggestion for a five-star review: My family and I had an amazing stay. We evacuated from Hurricane Milton and Spencer was incredibly accommodating. He went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect for us to check in. Spencer was very responsive and quick to answer any questions, making the entire process smooth. The instructions provided were clear and easy to follow, which made check-in and navigating the space a breeze. Highly recommend this place and would definitely stay again.

We spend a few days after Christmas and the place was clean and quiet to relax , we definitely stay here again .

The most perfect place for a relaxed and quiet getaway! My husband and I drove up here from Florida for our honeymoon. It was absolutely beautiful and so comfortable that we felt right at home. We hardly left the cabin, there was plenty to do right there. Canoeing on the lake with our dog was the highlight of the trip. 10/10 would stay again.

We had a wonderful stay, and would rate this as one of the most peaceful, places we have stayed. The home was very clean, modern and had everything we needed and more. The hosts were so amazing and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home- which we absolutely did! I have already recommended this stay to several of my friends and look forward to coming back.

The price was excellent for the amenities provided, and the location worked out perfectly for us. My husband and I have been taking our family on mid-winter excursions for over 20 years. In the last 10+ years we’ve added 2 son-in-laws and 6 grandkids. Alternating between Georgia and East TN, this has easily been one of our favorite getaways. Our grandkids loved the downstairs area they felt was especially provided for them, but lured the rest of us too! While we had several options for activities in the area to keep the kids occupied over the long weekend, it wasn’t necessary as they preferred to stay at the cabin and enjoy all the fun and games provided along with movies and popcorn made in the vintage looking popcorn cart! The cabin is lovely and very well stocked in every way. There was an issue with the heat-pump, but our communication was seamless with the Fordham’s and they had technicians sent out quickly to look into the situation. The cabin is set in a quiet, lovely location that affords privacy and relaxation. We would definitely recommend Lake Dakwa Lodge.

Our stay at Serenity Moon cabin was amazing! The location was beautiful and the house was awesome. Spacious with lots of options for sleeping. The basement was a huge hit with our kids to play board games and pool and hang out. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub and the outside fire pit area almost every day we were there. Jennifer was very responsive to all messages and questions as well as detailed and organized with instructions for checking in and staying at the cabin. It was the perfect combination of relaxing and enjoying nature (including seeing tons of deer right in the yard!) A great time for the whole family!

Our stay at Leza’s cabin was nothing short of perfect! The location is wonderfully secluded and peaceful, offering a quiet escape surrounded by stunning natural beauty. The scenery is very pretty and the setting is ideal for anyone looking to relax and unwind. Leza was an exceptional host—her communication was prompt, clear, and friendly. She was incredibly responsive, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The cabin itself was well-equipped and thoughtfully prepared, providing all the comforts of home. The yard and view of the pond is spectacular. The front lawn is basically a little hiking trail that’s a lot of fun. The home was as described and looks like the pictures. We would return.

Please don’t second guess this location. Everything was just like the pictures clean,neat. Plenty of space. We didn’t go anywhere there is plenty for the kids to do because it was a Spring Break Trip for the grandkids and they enjoyed themselves. I do plan on revisiting with adults because of the patio setup.CheckIn went great!! Great host!! I appreciate them for allowing us to visit their place!!!

My husband, teenage children and our dogs spent a long weekend at Britton's cabin. The beautiful view of the mountains and lake can be appreciated from almost every place in the cabin which is great because the views are incredible! The two floors of the cabin are a nice feature allowing parents and kids to have some alone time as needed. We really enjoyed kayaking across the lake and hanging out on the upper deck of the dock. Britton was a great host responding quickly to any questions we had. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan on going back in the future. We would highly recommend Britton's place! It has everything you need for a nice vacation or weekend stay.

This stay was everything we hoped for. Nice cabin off the beaten path with space for our dog to run around and explore. Very beautiful looks just like the photos. There is even a small waterfall to the right before turning into the property. Just be aware that if it is to rain bring some rain boots due to the lower location of the property the yard does get a little sloppy. Overall a great place to stay, very warm welcoming cabin. Within 20 mins of Blue Ridge and Ellijay, which both have shops, restaurants and other things to do. Would definitely stay here again.
