We had a wonderful stay at Villa Despina! The location is fantastically quiet, perfect for relaxing, and at the same time a good base for exploring the south of Crete. The villa itself is very clean, lovingly furnished and well equipped – from the kitchen to the beautiful outdoor area with pool, everything was well maintained. We particularly liked the warm hospitality and the little touches when we arrived. We felt right at home! A real highlight: the fantastic view of the surrounding nature and the sunsets in the evening. We will be happy to come back and can recommend Villa Despina to anyone looking for peace, comfort and Cretan warmth. Thank you for everything!

A beautiful Crete getaway in a great home. Charikleia will always be there for you to answer your questions, give you good recommendations and even bring some traditional sweets. The accommodation is very well located, quiet and relaxing with all the equipment to be comfortable during the stay. You have nearby not even a 5-minute walk to a small convenience store and a 10-minute walk to the beach and small restaurants (be careful in early November only 4 open restaurants). To get to Elafonisi or Balos, plan to drive 3h10 and 3h45. For a family of three we really enjoyed this largely livable place as a family. The pool is a real plus. It was a great vacation and I really recommend this place. Thank you again for your kindness and generosity. Thanks for the three of us!

A real insider tip for those seeking peace, nature and privacy. The accommodation is idyllically located, surrounded by lots of olive trees and mountains - perfect for switching off. We particularly liked the beautiful pool, the well-maintained tennis court and the refreshing outdoor shower – a real highlight after a hot day in the sun. Everything was very clean and lovingly designed. Magdalena was always available and quickly answered all our questions. We felt completely comfortable and will definitely be back! A tavern, a gas station and a small bakery are within 15 minutes' walking distance. However, since there is no sidewalk, a car is definitely recommended! The nearest beach, Heraklion and the airport are about 15 minutes by car.

There are some places that we have traveled to that check all the boxes but Muar Suites did much more than that! Besides being romantic, beautiful and clean we were met by one of the kindest hosts we have ever stayed with. Einat welcomed us herself with warm and generous hospitality and authentic concern for our enjoyment of her lodging and the area, she had amazing recommendations for places to eat and visit! Do not miss the wonderful breakfast served on the terrace of your own suite! We are so happy we booked the Muar Suite, beautiful views, amazing sheets and bed and the bathtub was a dream to relax in! The villa is clean, well stocked, and spacious. Simos was incredibly responsive and great to communicate with. The area is lovely, with a few excellent restaurants in walking distance, wineries and olive farms really close, and Knossos Palace also a short drive away. It’s a great place to unwind and the proximity to the Heraklion airport is also a bonus if you’re flying off the island.

This very clean and ultra-modern vacation home exceeded all our expectations! Such a warm personal welcome by the owners. A well-stocked refrigerator upon arrival, as well as fruit, coffee and refreshments. Beautiful large private pool. Fantastic luxurious enjoyment in all comfort with comfortable loungers and bathrobes/slippers. It was perfect for us, definitely recommend it and will undoubtedly come back soon!

We had a wonderful stay! The house was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The location was perfect for a relaxing vacation, and we really appreciated the peaceful atmosphere. Communication with the host was smooth and easy.

Beautiful villa in a wonderful location. Aspa and her husband were lovely, welcoming hosts that consistently went above and beyond to ensure that we enjoyed our stay. The villa is well appointed with everything you need, including linens, pool towels, kitchen items etc. and Aspa was kind enough to stock some food and drinks and even a cake upon our arrival. The location near Rethymno is great and is a nice distance for day trips to anywhere on the island. Strongest recommendation.

Our stay at Christina’s was excellent. Exactly what we hoped for, a quiet village, clean space with everything we needed. The locals were friendly and we had plenty to do within a 30m drive any direction. Would recommend as a home base to explore the rural areas of Crete.

Very very Beautiful Apartment and a Yard just for yourself to use and hang out. Perfekt for Couples or Families. There is also a small village with a little shop for some quick shopping. But in 30min you are in Heraklion and at beautiful beaches. Also Georgia is very kind and looks after you! Would def recommend and come back :)

Andy is a great woman and a great host, friendly, cheerful, we felt at home with her. Separate entrance, rest in peace and quiet. The studio is very clean and cozy, it was nice to spend time on the terrace full of flowers. She hosted us as if we were her closest family. I greet and recommend this place with all my heart♥️. We had a wonderful and relaxing vacation in Dimitri's apartment. The apartment is fantastically beautiful and tastefully decorated, with high-quality furniture and nothing is really missing. The terrace has a unique beautiful view of the sea and we spent many beautiful hours there. Dimitris is super friendly, always available and with helpful tips for excursions, restaurants, etc. he helped us a lot. He also arranged the transfer from the airport for us and it worked out just fine. The location of the apartment is also perfect. Supermarket and restaurants are within walking distance and the bus station is just across the street. We highly recommend the apartment, for us the most beautiful so far and we will be happy to think back to the time and come back soon.

We were perfectly happy here, everything was as described, the hosts were super friendly and helpful, the house is perfectly equipped (we made heavy use of the sandwich toaster), there is more then enough room. The surroundings are perfect as well, it's quiet, and the beach is very near, there are also some nice restaurants there. Plus there is a bus to Heraklion that goes every half hour. There is really nothing to complain about, we felt immediately welcome, and had a great time.

We enjoyed a fantastic four days in Aris’ place, the views of the plateau and mountains are just beautiful! We felt right at home, and it was lovely to have Aris and his wife physically there at check in, a rarity these days! The images really don’t do this place justice, it is up some winding roads but we were prepared for that having visited the plateau in 2012. We can’t recommend staying here more, we really wish we’d have booked a longer stay! Aris had a fantastic hire car recommendation too, which was also great, and we had some amazing recommendations from them too. Thank you very much Aris!

My wife loved this place. Everything from the new modern unit to the garden grounds. The bed was comfortable and the private parking area was also very convenient. The beach is walking distance, only half a mile away(downhill). But we didn’t feel like walking uphill back to the unit, se we just drove. An adorably friendly cat visits daily, which my wife also enjoyed.

We really enjoyed staying at the Epicurean. It is very close in the car to Agios Nikolaos and has a small wonderful beach 5 minutes away.

I recently had the pleasure of staying here, and I can honestly say it exceeded all my expectations! The location was perfect – close enough to explore all the main attractions, yet tucked away enough for a peaceful night’s rest. I especially loved the stunning balcony view. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable stay. Can’t wait to come back!

Its a great loft styled house that has an amazing patio/ rooftop! The place is also very conveniently located close to the highway and has lots of restaurants, shops, and pharmacies nearby! As its close to the airport, we did hear a lot of loud airplane taking off but it DID NOT bother us and it was very cool to see plane taking off in the hot tub! The hot tub was such a great addition to the space and the host provided bathrobes for our stay which was also a nice touch! It is placed in an area that is very private on the rooftop so you can totally enjoy with privacy. The host is great communicators and respond very promptly! The check out experience was very easy and they made it extra hassle free!

Antonia and Stella's house is very convenient and really very clean. There are wonderful views of Heraklion Bay. And the surroundings are quiet. Check-in and check-out information is impeccable, we arrived directly. Rodia is 15 minutes from the port of Heraklion, so very convenient for excursions in this city. I stayed with my wife and in-laws for three nights. The home was spacious and we enjoyed having the extra room. Thomais left us some treats in the fridge. A great home base. Note the beds are the firm side. The main living area has Air Conditioning but the upstairs bedrooms did not.

May 2025, 10 nights stay for three (2 adults, 1 toddler). Villa is really fantastic. Beautiful views of the sea and the bay. It offers a lot of space for more people (2 couples, 4-6 friends, 2 families) and for longer stays (storage space, cabinets and shelves, etc.). The equipment corresponds to the description and offers, even in the kitchen, everything you can need. Our highlight was the covered terrace. Our flight was moved up at short notice. A significantly earlier check-in was not a problem at all in our case. Stelios is a very friendly, helpful and dedicated host. We recommend him and his villa without restriction. Small limitation: the accommodation is a bit off the beaten track or the region is a bit scattered (mainly due to the geography of the area). Without your own car, it will be a little difficult in our opinion. However, there is a free parking space right by the house.
