Stone Cottage in Grounds of a 16th-Century Castle

The cottage sits on the grounds of a castle dating back to 1543 offering an authentic stay. The interior retains a decor that matches the historic charm of the area with modern comforts added and a shared pool in the stunning gardens outside. This is our smallest cottage and cannot take an additional bed or cot. The other cottages are all larger and can do this. All 3 cottages can be rented separately or together. They are in the grounds of a 16th century castle with beautiful gardens and large swimming pool enclosed by stone walls. The lower salon and summer kitchen in the main chateau is available to share. Access is by the side garden gate and all cottages are accessed by stone steps- sadly not suitable for wheelchairs. We will most likely be present living in the main Chateau and available to help and advise about restaurants and things to do in the area. We will share the pool and gardens. The old village is in a beautiful part of France that is has retained its iconic beauty through the centuries and still feels untouched by modern life in many places. Experience true local dining and bakeries with scenic walking trails all around. parking is in the church square below the Chateau. There is a local taxi service in the village and bus service to Avignon, Banyols sur Ceze and Uzes but car hire is recommended. We are 20 minutes from Avignon TGV rail station and about an hour from Marseille, Nimes or Montpellier airports. The cottages are completely private and tranquil.

Attached to the back of the main Mazet, the small Mazet is an independent, bright cottage, equipped with a kitchen and designed for 2 guests. Its atypical, cozy, intimate decoration is an invitation to travel in the image of the family of traveling artists, owner of the place. The hamlet located in the Cévennes National Park is ideally placed to fully enjoy the unique and grandiose landscapes of the Causse Mejean. The house opens directly onto a long-distance hiking trail. With family or friends, the area is perfect for recharging, sports activities or daydreaming under the stars.

Following the course of the river, we arrive at BLAJOUX . This village, built on the steep slopes of the Causse de Sauveterre, benefits from plenty of sunshine. Four-storey house renovated in 2019. Sleeps 6 to 8, 100 m from the river on foot. Pleasant and comfortable, 4 km from the village of Sainte-Enimie. Magnificent scenery, at the start of various hiking trails.
