I had the best, most relaxing, time at Mahakuruna! I was doing a mix of working, hiking, relaxation. The place has a very nice construction, is tastefully decorated, and has nice additions like a wood fire and bath for if it gets a bit chilly. The view from the front door is also spectacular. Honestly, something that made the trip super simple and really elevated it was using Arun there (probably the only airbnb that comes with a chef 😆). All of the meals he cooked were both very healthy and delicious. I enjoyed every one. Walking down into the valley via all the villages was great. I would also recommend the hike up to Pitam Deurali that takes about 4hrs round trip. Add on Australian base camp too if you want to hike a bit longer, but be sure to take the route avoiding Pothana though, as there is a permit checkpoint there. I'm by no means advocating to skip getting a permit - if you wish to hike further afield, definitely get one! (from KTM or Pokhara in advance)

One of the best air bnbs I have experienced. The location is in nature amongst the south east hills of Kathmandu. You feel at peace here, at with nature and tranquility. The house is cosy with everything you need. There is a conservatory / yoga house which has amazing views to meditate. The area is undergoing a big facelift with road construction but this doesn’t affect the stay. The host was loverly and tended to all my needs. The local driver was amazing and took me to some loverly garden plantations. You see the real Nepal in these locations with humbleness mixed with a great work ethic.

After thorough research, we chose this homestay for our trip, and it exceeded our expectations! The hosts, Ms. Binu and Mr. Sanjeev, were incredibly warm and hospitable. They checked in regularly to ensure our comfort, asking if we needed anything and confirming everything at the property was in order. Their thoughtful guidance on local attractions enriched our experience, making it easy to explore nearby gems. The homestay itself was impeccably clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed, offering a serene and comfortable retreat. Its location was ideal—peaceful yet conveniently close to the city’s key attractions, with everything easily accessible. The tranquil surroundings added to the charm, creating a relaxing atmosphere. We left feeling truly cared for and delighted with our stay. If we return to Kashi Vishwanath, this will undoubtedly be our go-to choice for its exceptional hospitality and perfect blend of comfort and convenience. Highly recommended for anyone.

It was a steep trek to the place. You should carry only essentials for the stay. Thankfully we were informed before, and they had an option to leave at their hotel down near the town. It had stunning Mountain View with relaxing beds. Food was tasty. Overall we loved the stay.

After a long and exhausting overland journey this house provided exactly the rest we needed. Pramod was a wonderful and understanding host, he helped in every way to make our stay comfortable. When I got sick he helped with medication, advice, anything. Thank you for everything!

A very special stay in a peaceful farm with a wonderful, local host family. We loved the intentionality of the spaces, the communication w the host (local family can use Google translate), and how well they accommodated our food allergies and requests. For those w different abilities - Lots of stairs and very bumpy road coming in! Not a place to do remote work w limited service/wifi but a great place for retreating! We would definitely come back and recommend for those looking for a peaceful stay.

We had a wonderful stay! The place was clean, cozy, and exactly as described, but what truly made our experience special was the host. They were incredibly kind and thoughtful, especially with our children. They went out of their way to make the kids feel welcome ,even surprising them with a small treats at the start of the trip , and some muffins for our last evening in Katmandu . It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality. Highly recommended for families,thank you for making our trip so memorable!

I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful bungalow. The space was clean, cozy, and the bed was extremely comfortable — perfect for unwinding. But the highlight was definitely the terrace. At night, the view of Kathmandu city lit up with twinkling lights and the serene presence of Swayambhunath in the distance was simply magical. Avinav was an exceptional host — communication was swift, and he genuinely cared about making sure I had a great experience. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy both comfort and stunning views .
