The Empty Nest Cottage

MarielleRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The home is lovely. The kitchen is well-appointed for making meals at home. The living room is comfortable and well-suited for hanging out. We enjoyed both the hot tub and the pool and the wooded area around the home, gave us the opportunity to see deer and other forms of wildlife. The area is quiet and we felt totally relaxed being at the house. There’s plenty of parking for multiple vehicles. Shawana Lynn and her husband are consummate hosts. They left snack and toiletry baskets, which we found to be very thoughtful and handy since we had forgotten our body wash. They provide plenty of towels, blankets, and pillows so guests can customize their comfort levels. Any issues that came up when we were there were quickly and graciously addressed. The amenities are perfect for a relaxing stay in the mountains. We also really enjoyed the location. It’s a beautiful area with hikes, nature drives, wineries and breweries. We had a blast here and we would totally stay again.

Willow Cabin of Big Island, VA.

ChristianRating, 5 stars1 day ago
We loved our stay here! Upon arrival we were met with a perfectly clean place alongside free snacks and other amenities. The unique style of the cabin by itself made it a fun stay but combined with how well kept Gretchen had the place and all the fun things to do in the cabin made it an outstanding stay.

While having a friend visiting from the busy city of Fort Worth Tx, and having never been to Virginia, John’s place was everything and more. Perfect for a quiet nature surrounded vacation and privacy to match. Very responsive host, great nearby restaurants, and near the beautiful SML. Great place to end a great trip! Will book again in the future

Treetop & Waterfront! Hot Tub, Kayaks, Game Room

CarissaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
This place was heavenly! The home is beautiful, the amenities Taylor provides are endless (spices, towels, toiletries, etc), and we had such a fun stay here. It rained for most of our stay but the covered patio allowed us to still spend hours outside. When we weren’t on the porch we were using the game room or cuddled up on the couch. We cannot wait to come back. If you have a chance- eat at Vinny’s! We went back 2x

Unique Cabin | Quaint, Modern, Cozy | Near LYH

AutumnRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a great stay celebrating our 10 year anniversary and also a birthday. The house has everything you could need and we loved cooking on the grill and loved that the kitchen was stocked with all the essentials. The house is the perfect layout for kids and dogs as well and the hot tub felt amazing after we hiked Crabtree Falls. The proximity to town and the local pie shop was perfect. We would definitely recommend to friends and family and would love to come stay again.

Gorgeous Renovated Cabin on James River | Hot Tub

Place was as described very private and secluded. We really enjoyed it, we came with the dog the one thing to note it is in the woods so there were a lot of ticks but other than that it was very pleasant stay.

A Waken at Smith Mountain | Lake-front A frame

AllegraRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
What a lovely little a-frame house! Perfect for a weekend getaway. The house is a little quirky - only one bedroom has a door and wall for privacy. The other bedroom is a loft upstairs with a curtain and the basement is down a small spiral staircase that is open to the main floor. Great for friends or a young family, but maybe not older folks because of the spiral staircase. Two back decks (not screened), and an additional separate screened-in porch at the front of the house. Steep, long staircase down to your own private dock, with plenty of room for boat parking or other activities! The house is on a nice, quiet inlet at the top of the lake, so the boat traffic wasn't an issue or noisy at all on a holiday weekend. Conveniently 10 minutes away from the Food Lion. All of the amenities were great! We especially loved the access to kayaks and SUP. I would definitely stay here again!
A cozy living space features rustic wooden beams and log walls. A warm fire burns in a stone fireplace, illuminating the room. Two tables and several chairs provide ample seating, while a soft rug lies beneath. Light shades cover the windows, adding a touch of warmth.

Cozy Cabin w/ Natural Beauty!

KellyRating, 5 stars1 month ago
This was one of my favorite AirBnB experiences I have ever had (and my group confers!) This 1900s cabin was the perfect unplugged adventure get-away for us. Jeff was very helpful and kind in hosting, called us in advance to let us know there would be extra firewood there and even told us some of the best hikes, stores, restaurants, and local wisdom. The cabin has a kitchen and bathroom addition on the back that help make the place more modern and easy-living while the main living room and bedroom loft hold so much character still with their original hardwood floors, active wood-burning fire place for warmth, and cozy feel. We felt so blessed to have gotten to stay here, especially with it being Liberty Graduation weekend- it was only a 35 minute drive to-and-from campus/Lynchburg and ONLY 6 MINUTES from sharp top mountain trailhead. We also stopped at The Well in Bedford for some loose-leaf teas/apothacary supplies and the Bridge Street Cafe for coffee. HIGHLY recommend staying here!!

"Paddlemore" James River riverfront property

KarenRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
If you’re looking for a peaceful spot on the river, punctuated by an occasional train whistle (across the river), this is it! Bryan and Wanda made sure we had what we needed and were very kind. The cabin is low on frills but we expected that. Access to the river is very easy and our son enjoyed several afternoon floats. Paddlemore was terrific for a weekend stay.

Beautiful Arrowhead Lodge in Jefferson Forest

NoahRating, 5 stars1 month ago
My family and I had a wonderful stay here! Jane provided detailed instructions, was quick to respond to messages, and was a very gracious host. As she mentions in the description, cell service is hard to get, but I did consistently have one bar on the second floor, and the wifi worked reasonably. For a spacious place that accommodates a large group (even littles), I highly recommend Jane’s cabin!

Private Cabin

The accommodations at Jim's cabin were excellent. It is remote, quiet and private - the perfect getaway from all of the hustle and bustle of daily life. Jim is an extremely gracious host - just a phone call away. The scenery and wildlife made the stay that much more memorable, along with the crisp, clean mountain air. Thanks for a wonderful experience. Looking forward to our next trip to Bedford County, VA.

Me and my husband loved this little place, we had booked for all weekend but ended up living in the middle of the night as I got very sick which was not related to our stay but we really wish we were able to stay the whole weekend but we defiantly will be back again, and have already suggested this place to a few of our friends. Great little spot!
