Welcome to Brakedal. Here there are quiet surroundings, hiking opportunities, beautiful nature, and views of the sea. Here you can fish, both from land and sea, relax, swim or explore nature according to your own wishes. Alone In The Woods With Your Own River Nearby

The house off the beaten track. If you want be totally alone in the woods in a house steeped in history, this is the place. Most of the inventory is historically and intact. A mini museum. Close by the house runs a river where you can fish small trout or swim. There are several nice waterfalls close by. Hiking trails up the mountain starts just 200 m from the house. Great hiking opportunities in Midtfjellet.

Place for peace and recreation. Or bolt space for children. Great hiking opportunities. The neighborhood here is very quiet. In today's busy society, it can be difficult to find such a quiet place when vacationing. Nature and tranquility must be experienced. We have previously had tourists from other countries in Europe come back - because of the silence and tranquility.

What a special place tucked in the middle of the island! A great little hike to get into the cabin, and the cabin itself, situated up on a little ledge overlooking the bog and river lands is such a fun place to stay. Very comfortable inside between the fireplace, simple solar setup, deck, and you can tell Knut's recommendations come from a love of the place and area. Thank you Knut, wish we had time to explore more of your recommendations.

Very calm and cozy place, beautiful view. It was quite clean, but they have dog, so next day after staying there was a lot of dog hairs - especially when I was cleaning the apartment. But it's not a big problem (when you don't have an allergy). The yard was full some kind of stuff, don't be suprised 🙂 Rune was very friendly!

Only stayed 2 nights as a stopover during our return trip to the Netherlands. Fitjar itself and the area around the cabin is very nice. Nice that there was a boat with which we could go on the fjord. Cottage is fine with a nice terrace and the company of sheep.
