Vacation rentals with a kayak in Esopus Creek

A beautiful home and the views were breathtaking on the lake. Although, it was frozen. All the amenities we needed and more. Close to skiing and tubing. Owner Sara was very attentive to respond quickly. We just wanted a getaway place for a family weekend. The road was narrow and very icy. Would go back but not in the winter. Summer and the Fall I think would be best. Lots more things to do in the nicer weather months. Thank you Sara for your hospitality.

We had a fantastic stay! Our group of 8 adults, 1 toddler, and 2 dogs had an amazing time. The house was spacious, clean, and comfortable—perfect for a family getaway. Vincent was an incredible host—attentive, thoughtful, and quick to respond to anything we needed. He even had small trash bags delivered when we asked, and followed up when the delivery had an issue to make sure it was corrected. One of the highlights was the binder he provided, which was full of helpful information about the house and local area—it really helped us plan our stay. The kitchen was another standout: impressively stocked with basics like flour, sugar, and salt, plus a KitchenAid mixer, toaster, coffee maker, food storage containers, multiple cutting boards, and lots of serving ware. It made cooking for our large group so easy. We felt truly taken care of the entire time. Vincent’s hospitality made all the difference. We’d absolutely love to stay here again!

Jenai's place was cozy and comfortable, with all the amenities you could hope for. We enjoyed cooking in the beautifully remodeled kitchen, soaking in the big tub, and relaxing with charming water views.

Anne Marie's place was exactly what we were looking for! It is extremely well stocked, with everything you might need, from kitchen appliances, extra blankets, many towels, etc. The surroundings were gorgeous and the area is very quiet and peaceful. Anne Marie was friendly and very responsive, answering questions quickly and flexibly. We can't wait to come back!

Great Place! Was only there for one night, but made use of the hot tub, and great view of the lake, a peaceful one day getaway.

The house is set lakefront with a beautiful , peaceful and private view . It is very well equipped and super comfortable with many different seating selections and hang out spots. We enjoyed the many hiking trails around the house and the gas fireplace along with the jacuzzi! We were disappointed with the late 5pm check-in unless we wanted to pay extra for earlier. We have always had a 2-4 pm check-in nine years using Airbnb. Paying $400 a night made the first night a short one. We did have a relaxing wonderful vacation.

This place was amazing. My team and I stayed here for a race weekend, and everyone loved it. There were lots of cool birds that were in the river nearby or the backyard, which made for some fun bird watching. I highly recommend!

We had a wonderful weekend getaway. The place was spotless and neat. Adele was very responsive and communicated very clearly. The location was quiet, safe, and peaceful. It was close to towns with lots of cafes, restaurants, bars and shops. Highly recommended!

It's hard to beat a place like this if you are looking for a peaceful, quiet, and comfortable stay. The lakefront backyard with kayaks, fireplace, heated porch with swing, and amenities to meet any basic need, made this a wonderful base for our group of four adults, a child, and furry friend to explore the area. It's a beautiful country/lake side escape a short drive from a number of villages and towns providing great eats, good shopping, and sightseeing. Highly recommend.

Mark was a responsive host who was very flexible and considerate of our needs (family of 4 with 2 kids) with early check in. His house is beautifully decorated and organized for a comfortable stay with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes . Most of all my kids enjoyed just running around the grass and being in nature, core memories , you can’t put a price on. Hopefully we will see you again.

I can’t say enough positive things about Daniel’s place. The setting was beautiful and serene; It was so quiet and peaceful we almost felt like it was our own private lake! The house was lovely and so tastefully and uniquely decorated. All the windows gave a constant view of the lake. There are many quaint towns to explore within a 30 minute drive, but you may want to spend most of your time enjoying the lake and kayak. We hope to return in the summer.

Comfortable and clean with beautiful scenery - on clear days, you get a Mountain view across the lake! Highly recommend.

Our stay at the Lake House Cabin was nothing short of magical! This charming 1940s cabin offered the perfect backdrop for celebrating my wife's birthday with our adult children. The stunning views of the lake were a highlight, providing a serene and picturesque setting that made our family gatherings truly special. We loved the easy access to kayaks and a canoe, which allowed us to explore the water and create lasting memories together. The cabin itself was cozy and well-appointed, making us feel right at home. We appreciated the blend of rustic charm and modern amenities, which made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. If you’re looking for a place to reconnect with family and enjoy nature, I can't recommend this lake house highly enough. We left with full hearts and plans to return!

We had a lovely time staying at Jo and Sean’s place even though it was the off season. One big thing for us is that our 3 dogs were welcomed with no restrictions. We enjoyed the deck being enclosed and having the dog run accessible. The views of the lake were stunning and peaceful. Our hosts were the most responsive we’ve ever had. Before we came, they provided lots of ideas for places to visit and things to do. We hope to come back again!

Private cottage, perfect for a quiet weekend getaway. Cameron was a very thoughtful and responsive host. Instructions were clear and covered everything, even suggestions for before arrival (nearest grocery store etc). We really liked the character of the home and interior decor. We made good use of the kitchen, as well as the fireplace which really is perfect on cold nights. (The fireplace logs had even been set up in advance of our arrival, with ample instructions, another much appreciated gesture. Fwiw I too was curious about the story of Martha and Howard.) Both downstairs couch and the upstairs loft bed were very comfortable. The overall quiet of the surrounding area made for some very restful sleep.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at this cozy cabin by the lake! The location is perfect, peaceful, scenic, and surrounded by nature. One of the highlights was waking up to deer grazing right in the backyard. It felt like a nature retreat, and we loved just sitting on the porch with chai, watching them wander by. The cabin itself was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The kitchen had all the essentials, and the living space was super cozy, especially with the fireplace going in the evening. The cabin is perfectly nestled right by the lake, which is literally in the backyard, such a dream to wake up to that view every morning. The fire pit was another highlight, we spent our evenings roasting marshmallows, sharing stories, and stargazing. A huge shoutout to Meghan, the host, she was so helpful and kind! She shared a bunch of local spots to check out. We’re already talking about coming back again!

Jill’s home was a perfect escape from city life. You might lose cell service but it felt great to unplug from a busy schedule. Jill leaves a book of towns, trails and activities to check that was very helpful when my group wanted to leave the house and explore the towns a bit. Definitely would love to come again in the summer to enjoy the lake access.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Dino’s Black Bear Cabin. The cabin is private and peaceful, such a nice getaway from the city. The furniture is comfortable, linens soft and kitchen fully stocked with spices and basic ingredients. Loved the unique basement speakeasy and jacuzzi. The cabin had everything we needed. The views of the lake and surrounding woods were breathtaking, providing a peaceful atmosphere to unwind. The host was exceptional—thoughtful, responsive, and always willing to help with any questions we had. Their attention to detail truly made a difference in our stay. Overall, the stay was an amazing stay. We hope to stay again and again. I would buy this place if it was for sale!! 10 out of 10 would recommend!

My boyfriend and I had a lovely time at Melinda’s place! It is so cozy, the esthetic is so nice. It was clean and private and quiet. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and throughout - the water pressure in the shower was amazing! We saw deer every day, we went on lots of walks and the neighbors were all friendly. I misunderstood from the pictures, and thought the cabin was directly next to the lake, but it was in walking distance. We would definitely come back, it was so lovely!

Ivan's place emulated a YouTube cozy winter jazz 12 hour video. It had everything you ever needed to feel relaxed and at peace. There were antique fire places inside the home, the house was made out of wood, it was clean and stylish. The location was great , facing the lake and mountains. It was a great place to disconnect and get away from all the noise. The town was 10 min away where you can get anything from wine to coffee to produce. Really grateful to the host for creating such a nourishing space and sharing it with the world. Thank you Ivan!

This place was so peaceful and gorgeous! We stayed here during the A Weekend in the Life event and it was such an easy drive into town and to all the activities. The house itself had great amenities and things to do! During our stay, the heater did break, but our host was on top of it. The house has a pellet stove that kept it toasty, so she had 5 bags of pellets delivered to the house for us, she had someone come out and service the pellet stove and she had someone come out to service the heat all in one day! They were accommodating and helpful. We also had our dogs with us who has plenty of space and the airbnb didn’t smell like dog. You couldn’t tell it was a pet friendly place. We loved it!

Wonderful stay beautiful house , the sunroom gives you an opportunity to relax among nature which was exactly what we were looking for during this getaway would love to return during warmer weather. The record player was a nice touch I even found a record with a song titled just like my full name crazy coincidence was nice to spend my bday listening to these old records. We had an amazing weekend stay at Catherine and Diego’s modern cabin! The property is exactly as described—beautiful, cozy, and perfect for a group getaway, with charming wood paneling and all the comforts of home. The hot tub and stunning views of the snow-covered landscape were highlights, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere after a day out. The location was ideal, offering both privacy and proximity to skiing and other activities, and the hosts provided clear instructions for check-in, making the experience stress-free.
